UN Appoints Jewish Judge to Head Inquiry into Alleged Israeli War Crimes

A Jewish judge said last night he was 'shocked' to be named as head of an investigation into claims of Israeli war crimes in the Gaza Strip.

Richard Goldstone, a South African, will examine allegations that soldiers killed Palestinian civilians in the three-week conflict with Hamas.

The appointment by the UN is believed to be an attempt to appease Israeli opposition to the inquiry. But there are fears it could prompt a Palestinian refusal to co-operate.

Mr Goldstone confessed he was 'shocked, as a Jew' to be invited to head the mission.
He said it 'added an additional dimension' to the four-person inquiry team which also includes British law professor Christine Chinkin.

The judge, who is on the board of governors at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, added: 'I believe I can approach the daunting task that I have accepted in an even-handed and impartial manner.'

Top British Judge Attacks European Court

Lord Hoffmann, the second most senior Law Lord, accused the Court of going beyond its jurisdiction and imposing "uniform rules" on states.

He said rulings that had gone against domestic decisions were "teaching grandmothers to suck eggs".
In a lecture to fellow judges, published this week, Lord Hoffmann said the European Court, in the French city of Strasbourg, was unable to resist the temptation to "aggrandise its jurisdiction" by laying down a "federal law of Europe".

Police Ordered to Release 7/7 Footage

Police have been ordered to release footage of the July 7 bombers after a three-year freedom of information battle. The Information Commissioner overruled objections from Scotland Yard that disclosure could disrupt its investigations, and ordered that seven pieces of footage should be released.
The force has 35 days to either appeal or disclose the material.

Riot Police Attack Peaceful Protestors At G20

The Collaborator's Song

The premise of the movie from which those scenes are drawn, the 1984 jingo-fest Red Dawn, is the conquest of the Midwestern United States by a Soviet/Cuban/Nicaraguan invasion force. Wildly implausible at the time, that storyline has not gained credibility over the past quarter-century. However, the movie's depiction of young, athletic mountain boys harrying and wearing down a vastly superior military force through guerrilla tactics in some ways foretold the eventual defeat of Soviet forces in Afghanistan, and Washington's impending defeat there as well.
In addition to presenting a creditable dramatization of fourth generation warfare, the movie also offers some valid insights regarding the tactics employed by totalitarian rulers and those who oppose them.

While it's profoundly doubtful that Americans will be ground beneath the heel of a Russian-led occupation force, there's a growing likelihood that the government ruling us – a quasi-socialist kleptocracy supported by a militarized proto-police state – will metastasize into undisguised totalitarianism.

Junkets, Boondoggles, and Faith

The one-day extravaganza called the G20 summit meeting ended on April 2 just as most political meetings ended: with a lot of promises, few specifics, and no identification of who will pay.
What is a summit meeting? It is a junket for heads of state. What is a junket? It is a taxpayer-funded trip abroad for Congressmen and their wives – and sometimes without their wives, for the really popular junkets.
One of the astounding things about G20 or G7 summit meetings is that stock market investors briefly believe that the pronouncements of politicians regarding what they intend to do, really want to do, and cross their hearts and hope to die will in fact do, will actually be done.

Obama in Deep Submission to Saudi Arabian King Abdullah

Thank the Lord that Barack Obama is an usurper president and not a real President of these United States, for if he were then the above image of the deep head and bended-knee bow of submission (Islam) before King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia would be the surest sign that his “my Muslim faith” gaffe comment in front of the whole nation while a guest on George Stephanopoulos ‘This Week’ television program was no gaffe at all.

NATO Spooked by Afghan Laws Upholding Patriarchy

Apart from drugs, oil and the need for perpetual war, Afghanistan is about bringing the blessings of Western feminism to women there. We are giving them the benefit of promiscuous sex, STD's, abortion, unemployment, lesbianism, divorce and single motherhood. However this bonanza is threatened by Hamid Karzai's new laws which enshrine the Patriarchy. Accordingly, a woman cannot refuse sex for more than four days. Headlines and newscasts in the West are screaming "legalized rape!"

Meme Supreme: Predictive Programming in Action

The following photographs, which I took at the newspaper rack of my local store this morning, reveal the preparatory meme* seeding for the on-going Control System gear shift. Brazen in-your-face programming.
Predictive programming presents and acclimatizes the public to new ideas, trends and beliefs. Fundamentally, it forms compelling mental associations between emotionally charged concepts and word patterns. The programming attempts to fuse emotive and abstract elements together, such as: 'economic stability' and 'new world order', 'global co-operation' and 'new world order', and underpinning everything - 'security' and 'new world order'.

We Are Intellectual Prostitutes

There is no such thing , at this date of the world's history, in America as an independant press. You know it and I know it.! There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions , and if you did , you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Othes of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who woud be so foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for anothe job. If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone. The business of the journalists is to destroy the truth: to lie outright; to pervert; to vilify; to fawn at the feet of mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. You know it and I know it and the folly of this toasting an independent press? We are the tools and vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping jacks, they pull he string and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are all the property of other men. WE ARE INTELLECTUAL PROSTITUTES'
--- John Swinton, Former Chief of Staff, New York Times, 1953

Changing the Rules of War

The extent of Israel's brutality against Palestinian civilians in its 22-day pounding of the Gaza Strip is gradually surfacing. Israeli soldiers are testifying to lax rules of engagement tantamount to a license to kill.
One soldier commented: "That's what is so nice, supposedly, about Gaza: You see a person on a road, walking along a path. He doesn't have to be with a weapon, you don't have to identify him with anything and you can just shoot him."

Should Obama Control the Internet?

Should President Obama have the power to shut down domestic Internet traffic during a state of emergency?

Senators John Rockefeller (D-W. Va.) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) think so. On Wednesday they introduced a bill to establish the Office of the National Cybersecurity Advisor—an arm of the executive branch that would have vast power to monitor and control Internet traffic to protect against threats to critical cyber infrastructure. That broad power is rattling some civil libertarians.

Cervical Cancer Vaccine Now Being Pushed on Boys!

Boys should be vaccinated against the sexual infection which causes cervical cancer because so few girls have had the jab that protects against it, say campaigners.

Even though boys cannot get cervical cancer, they can contract the human papillomavirus which causes 70 per cent of cases - and pass it on to girls.

Ministers want all girls between the ages of 12 and 18 to be given the jab over the next three years.

But latest figures show only 73 per cent of girls aged 12 and 13 had received the first two of the doses of the vaccine by this January.

Nicolas Sarkozy Campaign Against Tax Havens Hit by Reports of Swiss Contacts

Nicolas Sarkozy faced claims yesterday that in his previous job as a lawyer he often helped rich French clients to open tax-friendly bank accounts in Switzerland.

The claims are likely to embarrass the French President, who has said that he wants to “put morality back into capitalism” and clamp down on international tax havens.

Who Controls the Black Bloc Anarchists

The British authorities seemed to have little problem with allowing a group of violent black bloc anarchists smash up the RBS building while provoking police yesterday, despite the group announcing their target in advance, yet a legitimate anti-poverty organization has had its “accreditation” to protest at the G20 removed on the orders of Downing Street.

This once again underscores the completely undemocratic power of the government to decide who is allowed to protest against them and who is not. When you have to get permission from the government to exercise a God-given right, as in China or Russia, then we know we are already living in a police state. The freedom to protest is not one that has to be “accredited” by the state, a license to protest as it were, it is an innate human right.

Israeli police questioned the new foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, for more than seven hours on Thursday on suspicion of bribery and money laundering.

Lieberman, an ultranationalist who became Israel's top diplomat on Tuesday, has denied any wrongdoing and has called the police probe into his affairs a smear campaign.

His anti-Arab rhetoric has alarmed Palestinians as well as Arab leaders in the region.
"Avigdor Lieberman was questioned under caution by police today for seven-and-a-half hours on suspicion of carrying out the following: bribery, money laundering and breach of trust," said police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld.

Satanic? 1857 Mormon Massacre of Wagon Train

On Sept. 11 1857, in Utah Territory, Mormons slaughtered a wagon train with more than 120 California-bound settlers from Arkansas. This became known as the "Mountain Meadows Massacre." The motive was the Mormon "religion.
" The wagon train was ambushed by a group of men dressed in clothing of Paiute Indians at a location called "Mountain Meadows." There was a skirmish with mutual casualties forcing the attacking party to retreat. The settlers fortified themselves behind their wagons. It was a standoff. A couple of days passed and the settlers saw a party of white men approaching and ran out, thinking they were saved. But it was a trick. These same men had been the attackers dressed as Indians. They disarmed the surprised travelers and proceeded to execute the men, women, and adolescents in cold blood.

The Bankers' View of G20: an Arresting Bet for Traders

Two traders based in an office opposite RBS on Bishopsgate said they had walked across the City "to have a nice lunch and chill out". Sipping coffee after three courses and a few Marlboro Lights, they were angry that the police didn't seem to be making any arrests: "Its kicking off over in Bishopsgate", they said. "The demonstrators are goading the police and hitting them with sticks, but they are just letting them. They aren't arresting anyone."

And these two wanted to see the long arm of the law carting a few protesters away – because they had a financial interest in arrests. "I'll make money if they arrest more than 140", he said. Traders, he explained were putting spread bets on the number of arrests – with the quoted spread on Bloomberg at 130-140. They were also paying out on deaths and if more than 20 demonstrators are injured by horse charges.

The riots, they said, were only a minor inconvenience: "We've been in this morning, made a lot of money and now are chilling out".

But Save The Children and other aid organizations are being prevented from rebuilding by U.S. legislation. According to the Patriot Act, support to build schools or clinics in Gaza is "supporting terrorism".

These are extraordinary times. International law would be mere farce, said the chief US chief prosecutor at Nuremberg, Supreme Court justice Robert Jackson, "if, in future, we do not apply its principles to ourselves."

G20 Protests: Riot Police, or Rioting Police?

The trouble-makers are out in force again. Dressed in black, their faces partly obscured, some of them appear to be interested only in violent confrontation. It's almost as if they are deliberately raising the temperature, pushing and pushing until a fight kicks off. But this isn't some disorganised rabble: these people were bussed in and are plainly acting in concert. There's another dead giveaway. They are all wearing the same slogan: Police.

The police have been talking up violence at the G20 protests for weeks. They briefed journalists and companies in the City of London about the evil designs of the climate campaigners intending to demonstrate there, but refused to let the campaigners attend the briefings and put their own side of the story. They also rebuffed the campaigners when they sought to explain to the police what they wanted to do.

The way officers tooled themselves up in riot gear and waded into a peaceful crowd this afternoon makes it look almost as if they were trying to ensure that their predictions came true. Their bosses appear to have failed either to read or to heed the report by the parliamentary committee on human rights last week, about the misuse of police powers against protesters. "Whilst we recognise police officers should not be placed at risk of serious injury," the report said, "the deployment of riot police can unnecessarily raise the temperature at protests."

Clinton Advisor: Earth’s Population Has Exceeded Limits

One of most influential scientists in the US government has said that the Earth’s population has exceeded the planet’s “limits of sustainability”.

Dr Nina Fedoroff, the science and technology advisor to the US secretary of state, currently Hillary Clinton, told the BBC’s “One Planet” program that “There are probably already too many people on the planet.”

“We need to continue to decrease the growth rate of the global population; the planet can’t support many more people,” Fedoroff said.

Here's Proof. The Innocent Do Have Something to Fear

Sweet is the spectacle of a home secretary bitten by her own snake. The outrage of Jacqui Smith's television expenses claim lies not in its content, lurid as it is, but in the way it was exposed. How many times must the home secretary have been assured in security briefings that her latest purchase of some data storage gizmo was "totally secure"?

"Don't worry," the briefers would have said, "the material will be protected by the finest firewalls, the most foolproof anti-hacking devices and the most savage legal defence. Nothing will be transferable and only the highest in the land will have access. Besides, home secretary, as you have so often said, the innocent have nothing to fear."

Drugs Contribute to Dementia, Delirium

Older patients become more susceptible to drug-induced dementia and delirium as they age, but the symptoms are often overlooked by doctors who don’t realize that the condition may be caused by drugs and reversed, Public Citizen writes in a Worst Pills, Best Pills News article released today on WorstPills.org, the organization’s drug safety Web site.

Unlike most forms of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s disease, which cannot be reversed, dementia caused by prescription drug use may be stopped by discontinuing the offending medication.

The drug safety experts at Public Citizen have identified 136 commonly prescribed medications, especially certain antidepressants and pain medications, that can cause difficulty thinking.

Drug-induced dementia and delirium are commonly misattributed to underlying medical illness or merely to “old age.” But by stopping or modifying the dosage of numerous, frequently prescribed drugs, most patients can be restored to a pre-drug state of mental clarity.

ADL Slams Archbishop Who Said More Catholics Than Jews Died in Holocaust

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) hascondemned the words of a Brazilian Catholic Archbishop who suggested in a magazine interview that "more Catholics than Jews have died in the Holocaust, but this is usually not told because Jews own the world's propaganda."
In a statement released Wednesday, the ADL said the remarks by Archbishop Dadeus Grings of Porto Alegre, Brazil, highlight the continuing fallout from the case of Bishop Richard Williamson, who declared that no Jews were killed in the gas chambers during the Holocaust.

"We warned last month that every day that goes by in which Bishop Williamson fails to publicly recant his Holocaust denial only gives license to others to engage in Holocaust denial," stated ADL National Director Abraham H. Foxman. "Now we seeanother Catholic cleric distorting the Holocaust."

"The church must take strong and public action against these Holocaust deniers who represent the Catholic Church to the world," continued the statement. "It is especially important that Pope Benedict make it clear that there will be consequences for those clergy who engage inHolocaust denial."

Freeman further stated, “The tactics of the Israel Lobby plumb the depths of dishonour and indecency and include character assassination, selective misquotation, the willful distortion of the record, the fabrication of falsehoods, and an utter disregard for the truth.”

Let the World See Israel's True, Ugly Face

There is no doubt that the new Israeli government, led by Benyamin Netanyahu, honestly reflects the collective mindset of the Israeli Jewish Zionist society. Indeed, a fleeting glance at the composition of the new Israeli cabinet reveals an extremist coalition of war criminals, pathological liars, racist thugs (both of the Hitlerian and Stalinist styles), and hateful religious maniacs who inhale and exhale hatred 24 hours per day.

There is sufficient circumstantial evidence from their concerted lobbying efforts to undo and resist regulation to show planning and forethought in what is an almost amazingly straightforward case of fiduciary and financial fraud. Many a blind eye was turned to the decline of the nation as it occurred, as the media and politicians and financial regulators were caught up in a seductive web of corruption.

The perpetrators are still in place, relatively unrestrained, and certainly not facing anything that might be called 'justice.'

CFR Unveils Global Governance Agenda

The Council on Foreign Relations, often described as the "real state department", has launched an initiative to promote and implement a system of effective world governance.

The program, titled "The International Institutions and Global Governance Program," utilizes the resources of the "...David Rockefeller Studies Program to assess existing regional and global governance mechanisms..." The initial funding for the program came with a $6 million grant from the Robina Foundation, which claims that the grant is "...one of the largest operating grants ever received in Council history."

The IIGG program, launched on May 1st, 2008, is the latest manifestation of an agenda that has existed since and before the founding of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Former CFR member, Rear Admiral Chester Ward, stated regarding the group, "The most powerful clique in these elitist groups have one objective in common - they want to bring about the surrender of the sovereignty and the national independence of the United States. A second clique of international members in the CFR comprises the Wall Street international bankers and their key agents. Primarily, they want the world banking monopoly from whatever power ends up in the control of global government."

Ed Balls and Yvette Cooper claim more than £300,000 in allowances

Mr Balls, the Schools Secretary, is one of Gordon Brown's closest allies and a potential future challenger for the Labour leadership. Miss Cooper, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, may be in line for promotion in a summer reshuffle.

In 2007/08, Mr Balls claimed £155,556 in parliamentary allowances and expenses. Miss Cooper claimed £152,659.

Both claims were higher than the average of £144,176.
Together, the couple claimed £24,438 under the Additional Costs Allowance to fund a second home.

They use the money for a house in London which they register as their second home.
They list a house on Mr Balls' Yorkshire seat of Normanton as their primary residence, even though their children attend schools in London.

The Commons Standards and Privileges Committee last year rejected a Tory complaint about the couple's arrangements, saying they had done nothing wrong.

Between them, the couple also claimed more than £4,000 for transporting for their children.
Miss Cooper claimed £2095 for 56 journeys between London and her Pontefract seat. Mr Balls claimed £2010 for 47 journeys.

For their work in Government and in parliament, each of the couple is also paid a salary of £141,866.

MPs' Expenses: We Pay £460,000 for Wives and Children to Travel

A list of the allowances and expenses claimed in 2007-8 details for the first time how much each MP was reimbursed for family travel costs, amounting to £385,242 for wives and £75,819 for children.
Alistair Darling, the Chancellor, was the second highest claimant for family travel, charging £5,283 for 30 journeys made by his wife Margaret and £4,391 for the couple's two children, a total of £9,674.
The fact that the taxpayer is having to foot the bill for an average of more than £700 in travel expenses for the family of every MP is likely to be one of the issues discussed as part of an independent review into expenses and allowances which was ordered by Gordon Brown in the wake of the recent controversies involving the Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith, and the Employment Minister, Tony McNulty.

Businesses Turn to MPs for Help After Banks Demand Homes as Security

Britain's biggest banks are demanding that directors of small businesses put up their own homes as security to obtain basic credit facilities, The Times has learnt.

MPs have been inundated with pleas from entrepreneurs to step in and demand to know why the cost of securing ordinary borrowing facilities has soared and why lenders are insisting that directors offer their homes as security for renewing a corporate overdraft.

Evidence of new punitive lending terms comes amid a row over whether Britain's banks, which have been bailed out by or have received significant assistance from the taxpayer, are hoarding capital to shore up their balance sheets instead of passing on funds to help small businesses.

Blood And Excrement...The Movie, Coming Soon

April is almost here. The day after tomorrow is April Fools Day. I hope we don’t get fooled again… as the song goes, more or less. There are great stinking piles of excrement all over the place. The world has become a marsh of hog lagoons and you’ve got to watch your step. The problem is, when people are watching their step they tend to notice shit; pun intended. That’s not good for the people who put it there and nothing will take the mind off of the smell quite as well as the smell of blood.

Statins Cause Heart Attacks in Some Users

Over 38 million people in the U.S. are currently taking statin drugs to lower high cholesterol levels. However, German scientists at the Martin Luther-University in Halle-Wittenberg have just published research in the Journal of Lipid Research that shows, for some people, taking statins actually increases the risk of having heart attacks.

How Al Gore Celebrated Earth Hour

As most of you know, just over two years ago, my organization, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research, found that the knuckleheaded leader of the global warming alarmism movement, Al Gore, consumes 20 times more electricity in his home than the average American household.
Since Earth Hour was recognized today, Saturday, March 28 from 8:30-9:30pm, I thought I’d see how the hypocritical, fear-mongering former Veep was celebrating at his home.

I pulled up to Al’s house, located in the posh Belle Meade section of Nashville, at 8:48pm – right in the middle of Earth Hour. I found that the main spotlights that usually illuminate his 9,000 square foot mansion were dark, but several of the lights inside the house were on.

The kicker, though, were the dozen or so floodlights grandly highlighting several trees and illuminating the driveway entrance of Gore’s mansion.

Panel Advises Depression Screening for US Teens

An influential government-appointed medical panel is urging doctors to routinely screen all American teens for depression _ a bold step that acknowledges that nearly 2 million teens are affected by this debilitating condition.
Most are undiagnosed and untreated, said the panel, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, which sets guidelines for doctors on a host of health issues.
The task force said that when followed by treatment, including psychotherapy, screening can help improve symptoms and help kids cope. Because depression can lead to persistent sadness, social isolation, school problems and even suicide, screening to treat it early is crucial, the panel said.

Opposing Obama

This weekend's pitifully small peace demonstration in the nation's capitol reveals a near-totally demobilized U.S. Left mired in such timidity and delusion, activists fear to mention Barack Obama's name when denouncing the wars he so aggressively prosecutes. "The new president, who makes no secret of his intention to continue the previous administration's war of terror, escaped serious scrutiny and the condemnation he deserves." Forgetting that power concedes nothing without a demand, the Left shrinks from making real demands of the actual president in power.

Why the End of America is Closer Than You Think

I recently moved to Ecuador. Not for a vacation. Not for a month or two. I moved to Ecuador for good, as a permanent resident. Upon hearing my plans for living in South America, many people who knew me in the States asked things like, "Well what about the stability of Ecuador as a nation?"

To which I would respond, "Oh, you mean the stability of banks that don't make loans and don't invest in derivatives? You mean the stability of a nation where the population still has the courage to march in the streets and throw corrupt officials out of its capitol?"

Geithner's Plan Will Tax Main Street to Make Wall Street Richer

The new consensus among the experts who missed the housing bubble (EMHB) is that Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner's plan to subsidize the purchase of junk mortgages and their derivatives will help alleviate the stress on the banking system. That's good news.
Oh, by the way, some people will get very rich off the Geithner plan. Some hedge and equity fund managers could make hundreds of millions or even billions off the Geithner plan. And, under current law, they will pay a lower tax rate on this money than a schoolteacher or firefighter. Are you sold yet?

One other outcome of the Geithner plan is that the folks who bankrupted their banks and wrecked the economy will be able to continue to earn multi-million dollar salaries. Of course this is necessary, because who else has the skills to run these banks, other than the people who drove them into bankruptcy?

Scared Cheney Puts His Head in the Noose

The narrative that has taken shape since Cheney left office and lost the chance to stonewall inquiries is damning to the former vice-president. It was not an accident, it seems to me, that Cheney went on CNN the morning The New York Times published leaked testimony from the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The documents detailed horrifying CIA practices that the Red Cross unequivocally called torture – shoving prisoners in tiny, air-tight coffins, waterboarding, beatings, sleep deprivation, stress positions: all the techniques we have now come to know almost by heart. And torture is a war crime. War crimes have no statute of limitations and are among the most serious crimes of which one can be accused.

This is what Cheney is desperate to avoid. It is unclear whether he will actually ever be prosecuted, but the facts of his record will wend their way inexorably into the sunlight. That means he could become a pariah. Even though the CIA actively destroyed the videotapes of torture sessions, it could not destroy the legal and administrative record now available to the new administration.

PETA Killed 95 Percent of Adoptable Pets in its Care During 2008

Today the nonprofit Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) published documents online showing that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) killed 95 percent of the adoptable pets in its care during 2008. Despite years of public outrage over its euthanasia program, the animal rights group kills an average of 5.8 pets every day at its Norfolk, VA headquarters.

According to public records from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, PETA killed 2,124 pets last year and placed only seven in adoptive homes. Since 1998, a total of 21,339 dogs and cats have died at the hands of PETA workers.

ACLU Says Judge Must Release Woman Sentenced to Jail For Being Poor

The American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan asked for an emergency hearing today on behalf of an Escanaba woman sentenced to 30 days in jail because she is too poor to reimburse the court for her son’s stay in a juvenile detention facility.

“Like many people in these desperate economic times, Ms. Nowlin was laid off from work, lost her home and is destitute,” said Michael J. Steinberg, ACLU of Michigan Legal Director. “Jailing her because of her poverty is not only unconstitutional, it’s unconscionable and a shameful waste of resources. It is not a crime to be poor in this country and the government must stop resurrecting debtor’s prisons from the dustbin of history.”

False Flag Alert: Ahead of G20 Summit, Council Told to Switch Off Illegal CCTV Network

The security operation at this week's G20 summit was thrown into chaos last night when it emerged that the entire network of central London's wireless CCTV cameras will have to be turned off because of a legal ruling.

The Department for Transport (DfT) has ruled that Westminster council's mobile road cameras - a third of the authority's CCTV network - "do not fully meet the resolution standards required" and must be switched off by midnight tomorrow.

The blackout begins on the eve of the summit, when world leaders arrive in the capital and protesters take to the streets.

The Business Secretary said that banks had been given a 'well deserved bloody nose' but insisted the economy now needed them to succeed.

Lord Myners Hid His Money in Tax Haven

LORD MYNERS, the minister in charge of the government’s assault on tax havens, has used a blind trust to conceal £250,000 of his own money in an offshore shelter.

Who Would you Rather Trust - the BBC or a Blogger?

The best reason for wanting my colleagues to survive is that serious reporters and broadcasters offer a guarantee that what they say is true. If they stray, their editors impose journalistic standards and insist on objectivity. They may not have the best or fullest story or the most vivid account, but readers should be able to assume their work is reliable, while a blogger's commitment to objectivity can never be assumed.

The BBC offers the most comprehensive guarantee. Politicians and lobbyists want to influence it more than any other news organisation because, despite occasional lapses, its reporters have earned the right to be believed.

The corporation should be becoming the most important news institution not merely in Britain but the world.

Rise of Sea Levels is 'the Greatest Lie Ever Told'

If one thing more than any other is used to justify proposals that the world must spend tens of trillions of dollars on combating global warming, it is the belief that we face a disastrous rise in sea levels. The Antarctic and Greenland ice caps will melt, we are told, warming oceans will expand, and the result will be catastrophe.

But if there is one scientist who knows more about sea levels than anyone else in the world it is the Swedish geologist and physicist Nils-Axel Mörner, formerly chairman of the INQUA International Commission on Sea Level Change. And the uncompromising verdict of Dr Mörner, who for 35 years has been using every known scientific method to study sea levels all over the globe, is that all this talk about the sea rising is nothing but a colossal scare story.

Could a Massive "False-Flag" Cyberattack Be On The Horizon?

Since the attacks on September 11th, 2001, which many have called a "false-flag operation", meaning elements within the Federal Government carried out the attacks while blaming it on its enemies, there has yet to be a massive Internet attack which would, no doubt, cripple the global infrastructure, especially in these unstable times. But could one be in the works in order to usher in complete worldwide government control of the Internet?

Fusion Center Agents Working Public Forums?

People continue to ask me, "what is a fusion center?" At first, I was perplexed by the term, but as I looked further.....it seems to be a coordinated effort by Homeland Security, through various state run agencies, to monitor websites and forums in their area. They monitor for illegal activities, including terrorism. However, there is a likely scenario that goes beyond law enforcement, but a potential brainwashing tactic, under the direction of the Obama administration.

The Obama Government: Take From the Poor and Give to the Rich

These past several weeks have witnessed a stunning attack on working people, with the Obama administration leading the charge. It started with Larry Summers, Obama’s chief economic adviser, responding to the A.I.G. bonuses by pontificating about the sanctity of contracts: “We are a country of law. There are contracts. The government cannot just abrogate contracts.” Like a mad dog pursuing its prey, he pounced on the conclusion that absolutely nothing could be done about the bonuses.

Unfortunately, Summers voiced no similar outcry when the Obama administration, only weeks earlier, insisted that the U.A.W. contracts be renegotiated as a condition for the auto industry receiving a bailout, suggesting that a different set of rules applies to the rich than to the rest of us who constitute the majority and work for a living.

However, when a public uproar swept the country in response to these bonuses, many of which were ear-marked for the financial wizards who helped drive the economy over the cliff, the Obama administration executed a hasty about-face. Suddenly, they too were “outraged,” along with everyone in Congress who wanted to keep alive any chance of re-election.

Passengers on ferries to the Isle of Wight and Scottish islands such as Mull and Skye will soon have to carry identity papers to comply with new police anti-terror powers.

And travellers flying between British cities or to Northern Ireland face having their personal data logged when booking tickets and checking in.

Until now ferry passengers on most routes in Britain have not been required to produce ID and internal flight passengers only face random police checks.

But under new Government security rules that will come into force next year, personal data, including name, date of birth and home address, will be typed into a computer record for the police by the booking clerk or travel agent.

Passengers will also face further ID checks when boarding their flight or ferry.

EU is a Disaster Worse Than the Recession

In 2001 I gave to the Conservatives what was, I believe, the biggest donation they had ever received and I continue to remain a regular supporter.

Yet I shall vote UKIP in the European elections on 4 June and I have just given them a decent donation.

Why? The answer is simple. The European Union (the EU) is a disaster, even worse than the recession because the recession will end some time but the EU may not.

I want the voters, in the European elections, to send a clear message to the leading parties that they really do mind intensely about the massive harm our membership is doing to us.

Low-risk patients will be given general advice on healthy lifestyles. Others may be advised to go on a weight loss programme. Patients at highest risk will be prescribed statins - cholesterol-lowering drugs - or blood pressure treatment.

Think!

You’ll be familiar with the term ‘thought police’. That department of Elite Mission Control is very active right now because the mind programme wants to completely shut down independent thought.

Independent thought, which requires an open mind, will call into question what it feels is not ‘right’.
And since less and less is feeling right, the more closed minds there are, the more the elite can get away with keeping their dastardly plan hidden. It’s getting harder for them to do that so they are trying to shut down minds faster.

Let me show you something I call into question and put firmly in the category of Mind Control.

Deep Ecology Misanthropy Moving Into Mainstream Environmentalism

Deep Ecology is a neo earth religion, the ideology of which holds that nature should be given equal consideration with people–a concept sometimes called ecological egalitarianism. The explicit rejection of human exceptionalism led adherents into a profound nihilism and anti-humanism in which deep ecologists yearn for a radical human depopulation to under 1 billion.

What Happened to Obama's Campaign Promise of Peace

President Obama was elected with an overwhelming mandate for peace. He promised to withdraw troops from Iraq, to close Guantanamo, and to end the practices of torture, domestic spying and detention without trial. He decried the dictatorial arrogation of power that Bush had claimed as President.

Once in office, Obama retained Robert Gates as Defense Secretary, despite the fact that Gates is an outspoken Middle East hawk, (Gates was also involved in the Iran/Contra scandal of the 1980s, and is linked to election theft in 2002 and 2004.)

Obama now talks about keeping 50,000 troops in Iraq indefinitely. He says it will take at least a year to close Guantanamo. His Justice Dept is defending the Bush Constitutional abuses in the US Court of Appeals. And he has said he wouldn’t want to do anything to ‘weaken the Presidency’.

Obama Holds 'Very Pleasant Meeting' With Top Bankers

US President Barack Obama met behind closed doors for more than an hour and a half with the chief executives of the largest American banks on Friday, reassuring the titans of finance that his administration has their best interests at heart.

According to White House press secretary Robert Gibbs, the meeting's agenda included the Obama administration's "toxic asset" purchase program, proposals for regulation of the finance industry, and executive compensation.

Every aspect of the administration's economic policy caters to the interests of the financial elite, of which the president is merely a mouthpiece.

The private meeting at the White House had the air of a conspiracy against the public, a gathering to discuss carving up state resources in order to hand them over to the banks and major investors.

Britain has offered its full backing for a renewed military offensive inside Pakistan, as UK ministers confirmed the country was now "part of a single campaign" alongside Afghanistan.

Medvedev Turns Down US Bribe on Iran

The Kremlin has ruled out the possibility of a trade-off between nuclear cooperation with Iran and a controversial US missile defense system.

In an exclusive interview with the BBC to be aired on Sunday, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev suggested that he does not think his American counterpart Barack Obama would agree to such an exchange.

Obama's drive to reset relations with Moscow took a huge stride last month when reports claimed that the White House might forgo the defense shield in Eastern Europe if Moscow uses its relations with Iran and address US concerns about Tehran's nuclear efforts.

"As for Iran, we have full relations with that country but our position is based on well-known UN resolutions and on the approach set out by the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency), namely that Iran's nuclear program should be peaceful. That's our position and we have always told Iran that," Medvedev said.

“There will be an armed response vehicle element to this operation and [those officers] will be carrying Tasers,” said a spokeswoman.

Obama to Bring More Mercenaries to Afghanistan -- Sound Familiar?

As President Barack Obama begins winding down the Bush war in Iraq, he is building up his own war farther east. We're told that it will be a new, expanded, extra-special American adventure in Afghanistan, involving a vigorous surge strategy to "stabilize" this perpetually unstable land.
What Obama has not mentioned is that, in addition to soldiers and civilians, there is a third surge in his plan: private military contractors. Yes, another privatized army, such as the one in Iraq. There, the Halliburtons, Blackwaters and other war profiteers ran rampant, shortchanging our troops, ripping off taxpayers, killing civilians and doing deep damage to America's good name.
