Big Sis Breaks Out 'Heightened' Terror Alert As PATRIOT ACT Extension Heads Back To House Floor

Defeat for the proposed extension of the so called PATRIOT Act in the House Tuesday night made national headlines, yet the extension is set to pass by the end of the week anyway as it is brought back to the floor for another vote. But just in case anyone in Congress reaches the sudden epiphany that they are effectively voting on the Enabling Act, Big Sis Janet Napolitano has officially notified a congressional panel that the US faces the greatest possibility of a major terror attack since 9/11.'

'Theft by Finding': Woman Who Took Potato Waffles and Pies Thrown Out by Tesco is Handcuffed and Charged with Stealing

A woman was handcuffed and 'treated like a hardened criminal' after she helped herself to food worth £200 that had been thrown away by a Tesco store following a power cut.

Dozens of people could not believe their luck after the outlet of the supermarket giant bagged up thousands of pounds of spoiled stock and left it out in the street.'

People Get Power to Take CCTV Abusers to Court

The Protection of Freedoms Bill contains a raft of measures to row back is seen as widespread intrusions of privacy, many introduced by the last Government.

They include tearing up the controversial anti-paedophile vetting scheme, making it a criminal offence to wheel-clamp vehicles on private land, a dramatic restriction on the storing of the DNA of innocent people and a scaling back of state powers to snoop on people.'

Obama Energy Secretary Promises 'Massive' Coal Plant Closures

Obama Energy Secretary Steven Chu has launched the next phase of the White House’s publicly stated agenda to bankrupt the coal industry via EPA regulations after announcing the prospect of “massive” coal plant closures even as Texas and other states suffer rolling blackouts as a result of maxed-out power plants that cannot cope with demand.

The Obama administration’s strict enforcement of draconian EPA regulations has led to new clean-burning coal-fired plants being mothballed and other existing ones being shut down, which has in turn led to Texas and other states becoming energy-dependent, leading to shortages and blackouts exacerbated by freezing temperatures.'

Cameron's Scapegoating Will Have a Chilling, Toxic Impact

In parts of Britain, Muslims are effectively under siege. They are routinely spat at and abused in the street. Over the past couple of months there have been arson and other attacks on mosques in Hemel Hempstead, Leicester, Scunthorpe, Stoke and Kingston, as well as desecration of a Muslim graveyard and fire-bombing of a halal shop.

Most of these outrages weren't even reported in the national media, let alone the occasion for a supportive visit from a government minister. As elsewhere in Europe, far-right organisations such as the British National party have increasingly switched the focus of their hatred from Jews and migrant populations in general to Muslims. More than half the "significant demonstrations" in the past 18 months, according to the Inspectorate of Constabulary, were mounted by the English Defence League, which only targets Muslims, smashing shop windows and assaulting passers-by whenever it manages to break through police lines in mainly Muslim areas.'

Dementia 'Not Normal Part of Ageing' Say Scientists

Experts claim they are close to developing effective treatments for the degenerative conditions that will soon affect a million people in Britain.

They want to dismiss the idea that diseases such as Alzheimer’s, which lead to memory loss and a gradual decline in capabilities, are an inevitable part of the ageing process that await us all.

But they say that dementia remains the “poor relation” to cancer and heart disease in terms of research funding, and so more people will suffer unnecessarily unless Government, private companies and the public increase investment.'

Is This the UK's Most Useless Wind Turbine? It Cost £130,000 in Subsidies Last Year... to Raise Electricity Worth Just £100,000

Passed by millions of drivers a year, it is one of England’s best known wind turbines. It is also one of its most useless.

According to latest figures, the 280ft generator towering over the M4 near Reading worked at just 15 per cent of its capacity last year. And although it generated electricity worth an estimated £100,000, it had to be subsidised with £130,000 of public money.'

$1.4 Million Per Page: How Ireland Paid Merrill Lynch For 'Advice' That Bankrupted A Nation

The incompetence of central bankers and finance ministers over the past few years has been breath-taking, but Ireland's Minister for Finance, Brian Lenihan, takes the golden biscuit for sheer ineptitude.

From David McWilliams' recent book, Follow The Money: The Tale of the Merchant of Ennis, we learn that Lenihan, a lawyer by training, received his first lessons in banking and finance at McWilliams' kitchen table - on the 17th of September 2008.

Before that, McWilliams tells us, Lenihan had learned everything he knew about finance from a biography of Alan Greenspan(!) that he had picked up over the summer. We learn that Lenihan had no idea that Irish banks were in trouble until after the failure of Lehman Brothers just two days before.'

Egypt's State-run Media Starting to Shift from Pro-Mubarak Coverage

Over the past few days, journalists working for Egyptian state media have orchestrated a remarkable uprising of their own: They have begun reporting news that casts the embattled government in a negative light.

Whether the change is a sign of a weakened regime that is losing control or the result of a decision by the government to loosen its grip on information remains unclear. But the shift has been hard to miss.'

$23.7 Trillion to the Banks, $20 Trillion Wars, and Austerity Cuts for Poor Americans

Republican House Speaker John Boehner on Thursday vowed the biggest budget cuts in US history as budget talks in the Congress heated up.

Some of the cuts will be part of a House spending bill to fund the US government through the end of the fiscal year on October 1, replacing a stopgap measure approved last year that expires March 4.

The Revolt in Egypt is Coming Home by John Pilger

The uprising in Egypt is our theater of the possible. It is what people across the world have struggled for and their thought controllers have feared. Western commentators invariably misuse the words "we" and "us" to speak on behalf of those with power who see the rest of humanity as useful or expendable. The "we" and "us" are universal now. Tunisia came first, but the spectacle always promised to be Egyptian.

As a reporter, I have felt this over the years. In Cairo’s Tahrir (Liberation) Square in 1970, the coffin of the great nationalist Gamal Abdul Nasser coffin bobbed on an ocean of people who, under him, had glimpsed freedom. One of them, a teacher, described the disgraced past as "grown men chasing cricket balls for the British at the Cairo Club." The parable was for all Arabs and much of the world. Three years later, the Egyptian Third Army crossed the Suez Canal and overran Israel’s fortresses in Sinai. Returning from this battlefield to Cairo, I joined a million others in Liberation Square. Their restored respect was like a presence – until the United States rearmed the Israelis and beckoned an Egyptian defeat.

Thereafter, President Anwar Sadat became America’s man through the usual billion-dollar bribery and, for this, he was assassinated in 1980. Under his successor, Hosni Mubarak, dissenters came to Liberation Square at their peril. Enriched by Washington’s bag men, Mubarak’s latest American-Israeli project is the building of an underground wall behind which the Palestinians of Gaza are to be imprisoned forever.

Today, the problem for the people in Liberation Square lies not in Egypt. On 6 February, the New York Times reported: "The Obama administration formally threw its weight behind a gradual transition in Egypt, backing attempts by the country’s vice president, General Omar Suleiman, to broker a compromise with opposition groups … Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said it was important to support Mr. Suleiman as he seeks to defuse street protests…"

Having rescued him from would be assassins, Suleiman is, in effect, Mubarak’s bodyguard,. His other distinction, documented in Jane Mayer’s investigative book, The Dark Side, is as supervisor of American "rendition flights" to Egypt where people are tortured on demand of the CIA. He is also, as WikiLeaks reveals, a favorite in Tel Aviv. When President Obama was asked in 2009 if he regarded Mubarak as authoritarian, his swift reply was "no." He called him a peacemaker, echoing that other great liberal tribune, Tony Blair, to whom Mubarak is "a force for good."

The grisly Suleiman is now the peacemaker and the force for good, the man of "compromise" who will oversee the "gradual transition" and "defuse the protests." This attempt to suffocate the Egyptian revolt will call on the fact that a substantial proportion of the population, from businessmen to journalists to petty officials, have provided its apparatus. In one sense, they reflect those in the Western liberal class who backed Obama’s "hope and change" and Blair’s equally bogus "political Cinemascope" (Henry Porter in the Guardian, 1995). No matter how different they appear and postulate, both groups are the domesticated backers and beneficiaries of the status quo.

In Britain, the BBC’s Today program is their voice. Here, serious diversions from the status quo are known as "Lord knows what." On 28 January the Washington correspondent Paul Adams declared, "The Americans are in a very difficult situation. They do want to see some kind of democratic reform but they are also conscious that they need strong leaders capable of making decisions. They regard President Mubarak as an absolute bulwark, a key strategic ally in the region. Egypt is the country along with Israel on which American Middle East diplomacy absolutely hinges. They don’t want to see anything that smacks of a chaotic handover to frankly Lord knows what."

Fear of Lord Knows What requires that the historical truth of American and British "diplomacy" as largely responsible for the suffering in the Middle East is suppressed or reversed. Forget the Balfour Declaration that led to the imposition of expansionist Israel. Forget secret Anglo-American sponsorship of Islamic jihadists as a "bulwark" against the democratic control of oil. Forget the overthrow of democracy in Iran and the installation of the tyrant Shah, and the slaughter and destruction in Iraq. Forget the American fighter jets, cluster bombs, white phosphorous, and depleted uranium that are performance-tested on children in Gaza. And now, in the cause of preventing "chaos," forget the denial of almost every basic civil liberty in Omar Suleiman’s contrite "new" regime in Cairo.

The uprising in Egypt has discredited every Western media stereotype about the Arabs. The courage, determination, eloquence, and grace of those in Liberation Square contrast with "our" specious fear-mongering with its al-Qaeda and Iran bogeys and iron-clad assumptions, bereft of irony, of the "moral leadership of the West." It is not surprising that the recent source of truth about the imperial abuse of the Middle East, WikiLeaks, is itself subjected to craven, petty abuse in those self-congratulating newspapers that set the limits of elite liberal debate on both sides of the Atlantic. Perhaps they are worried. Across the world, public awareness is rising and bypassing them. In Washington and London, the regimes are fragile and barely democratic. Having long burned down societies abroad, they are now doing something similar at home, with lies and without a mandate. To their victims, the resistance in Cairo’s Liberation Square must seem an inspiration. "We won’t stop," said the young Egyptian woman on TV, "we won’t go home." Try kettling a million people in the center of London, bent on civil disobedience, and try imagining it could not happen.

White House to Cut Energy Assistance for the Poor

President Obama’s proposed 2012 budget will cut several billion dollars from the government’s energy assistance fund for poor people, officials briefed on the subject told National Journal.

It's the biggest domestic spending cut disclosed so far, and one that will likely generate the most heat from the president's traditional political allies. Such complaints might satisfy the White House, which has a vested interest in convincing Americans that it is serious about budget discipline.'

The Intent of the U.S. Ruling Class Is Total Tyranny: We Must Stop It!

The United States government and its corporate partners in crime have already achieved a level of corruption beyond any in history. I base this on the monumental scope and reach of this empire. Many I fear will doubt this bold statement, but before you do, be very careful not to dig too deep. If you do, be prepared for a startling dose of truth and reality. This newest round of tyrannical behavior began with the passage of the atrocious USA PATRIOT Act, the Military Commissions Act, the development of the Department of Homeland Security, the legalizing of assassinations of Americans, and more civil liberty destruction continues constantly.

This does not include the atrocities being perpetrated by American forces overseas such as aggressive wars of occupation, operating military bases in over 170 countries, infrastructure devastation causing the displacement of millions of innocents, torture, and murder. Even with all this, the surface has barely been scratched. Most all police in the U.S. have now become militarized and federalized. Large-scale holding centers have been opened or constructed, and the regular military has taken up residence on American soil; not for the purpose of protection from enemies from afar, but strictly for the control of Americans. I’ve written about this here and here.'

'Go To Your Homes! Go To Your Jobs!' Egyptian Vice Pres Suleiman Speech

You Can't Overdose on Homeopathic Remedies; Why Won't Homeopathy Skeptics Drink Their Own Medicine?

It's really quite hilarious to see this unfold: Homeopathy skeptics and vicious Big Pharma attack dogs are running around the globe in ludicrous demonstrations where they consume huge doses of homeopathic remedies in public and then claim that because they don't die of an "overdose," these medicines therefore don't work.

Notice that they never consume their own medicines in large doses? Chemotherapy? Statin drugs? Blood thinners? They wouldn't dare drink those. In fact, today I'm challenging the homeopathic skeptics and other medical fundamentalists to a "drink-a-thon" test to see which medicines will kill you faster. But we'll get to that in a minute...'

Haiti Braces for Return of Jean-Bertrand Aristide

Haiti has issued a diplomatic passport to former president Jean-Bertrand Aristide, in effect ending his seven-year exile in South Africa.

His lawyer, Ira Kurzban, said he had collected Aristide's new passport in Port-au-Prince. "He's going to try to return as soon as he can," Kurzban said.

Aristide has asked the government to provide him with the security constitutionally promised to a former president.

Asked last month whether he was ready to return, Aristide said he would come back "today, tomorrow, at any time".'

New Gaza Factory, Jobs Destroyed in Israeli Attack

I still cannot believe my eyes as I see the machines of our new factory, scattered to all corners," said Rabah al-Hatto as he surveyed the rubble of his recently-established plastic water tank factory in northeast Gaza, which was bombed by Israeli warplanes early yesterday. "What have I and the twenty workers here done to find ourselves jobless?" al-Hatto told The Electronic Intifada.

The factory was due to start distributing its products in the local market in two weeks. "I am completely shocked," the trim-bearded al-Hatto said. "I never imagined that the factory in which I and my partners invested all our money and energy, would become rubble." As he spoke, al-Hatto was surrounded by workers, friends, reporters and a field worker from a human rights group.'

America’s Legacy of Mutagenic War

A series of disturbing reports from Iraq and Vietnam (backed up by a horrific collection of videos) have exposed a hidden legacy of war — weapons that continue to create victims years after the conflict has ended.

Thanks to the US military’s embrace of Mutagenic Weapons — technologies that can poison cell tissue and ransack the human DNA far into the future — babies and children have become the latest form of "collateral damage." Today, in Vietnam and in Iraq (and in Kosovo and Afghanistan), children are being born with deadly cancers, grotesque tumors, twisted or missing limbs, freakishly enlarged heads, and a range of horrific mutations.'

Egypt Army to Shoot Commanders?

An Egyptian activist says several Egyptian army officers and soldiers have warned the military that they will no longer shoot protesters, instead they will shoot the commanders.

"I think some of them (the army personnel) might join protesters. We have heard some of the officers and soldiers saying if we receive an order to shoot people, we would shoot whoever issued the order," Wael Abbas, a member of the opposition Egypt Revolution Youth Movement, told Press TV in a phone interview on Thursday.

Egypt Revolution Youth Movement has been one of the active rights groups in 17 days of revolution which has rocked the North African country.'

US Vows to Veto UN Resolution on Israel

The United States says it will use its full power to block a United Nations resolution condemning Israel's illegal settlements, a US diplomat says.

"We have made very clear that we do not think the Security Council is the right place to engage on these issues," and that the US will use “tools that we have” to block any resolution, AFP quoted Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg as telling the House of Representatives' Foreign Affairs Committee on Thursday.'

Strikers Push Egypt Police Back

Egyptian employees, who have gone on a strike amid nationwide pro-democracy protests, have forced the police out of their way in the capital.

The strikers, composed mainly of lawyers and judges, amassed in front of a main palace in the city, said Press TV correspondent Jihan Hafiz from Cairo.

“Once they got to that palace, they were trying to get through. There's a police barricade. They actually broke through the police barricade and the Egyptian police fled the scene,” she said.'

Obamacare Advocate: Make Refusniks Wear Gold Stickers

A leading advocate of Obamacare told NPR yesterday that Americans who refuse to pay for health care should be forced to wear gold stickers on their foreheads and refused emergency hospital treatment, in a chilling throwback to how Jews were persecuted by being made to wear yellow stars by the Nazis during the occupation of Europe.

In an article carried on the NPR website entitled Alternatives To Mandating Insurance? Maybe, Dr. Len Nichols, Professor of Health Policy and Director of the Center for Health Policy Research and Ethics at George Mason University, and a staunch advocate of mandatory health care, came up with a novel idea “to make the consequences of not having insurance even more dramatic.'

U.S. Housing ‘Vicious Circle’ Worsens

It wasn’t supposed to be like this. For three years, two successive U.S. administrations have made “fixing the housing sector” explicitly a top priority. Since that time, we have been assured by a plethora of politicians, housing “experts”, and media talking-heads that the U.S. housing sector had “bottomed”, and (like the U.S. economy itself) had begun a “recovery”.

It was all fiction.

New numbers show that roughly 27% of all U.S. mortgages are currently “underwater”, worse than the (supposed) “bottom” of the original collapse, when that number soared to a previous record of 25%. This single number exposes a multitude of myths.'

The U.S. Corporation and the Maritime Flag

Gerald Celente has an excellent piece on the Superbowl entitled Are Americans Sure Their Flag Is Still There?

Good stuff. But I'm wondering, not just if there's a flag still there, but which one?

And who notices?

Besides the banality of this meaningless exchange and the usual attempts to polarize viewers and pretend they have some significance in the grand scheme of things, I was more taken by the fringed Maritime flag featured behind Obama during the interview.'

Google - Zionist Engine of Mind and Genetic Control

Google is a Public US company, and is in the main financed by US Pension Plans. It has an obligation to it's stockholders to run the business in an effective, competent and appropriate manner.

Therefore the following question begs to be asked; " Does the establishing of a $50 million dollar research centre in Tel Aviv, paying extravagant salaries to Israeli workers, when such an operation could have been located in Bangladesh for example, at a fraction of the cost, fall within the remit of conducting business in an effective, competent and appropriate manner? "

In this sudden rush to Israel, Google is in good (depending on how you see the world) company. IBM, Sun Systems, Microsoft, Intel and others have all chosen Israel as a location in which to set up operations. Financially, this just does not make any sense. Furthermore, why is a country made up overwhelmingly of Russian immigrants, with an average IQ of 90 such an attractive destination for these corporate giants ?'

Icelandic Volcano Set to Rrupt Dwarfing Last Year's Devastation, Warn Scientists

Scientists in Iceland are warning that another volcano on the island looks set to erupt, threatening to spew-out a blanket of dust that would dwarf last year's eruption.

Geologists detected the high risk of a new eruption after noticing an increased swarm of earthquakes around the island's second largest volcano Bárdarbunga.

Pall Einarsson, a professor of geophysics at the University of Iceland, says the area around Bárdarbunga is showing signs of increased activity, which provides 'good reason to worry'.'

The Great Super Bowl Fumble

The Illuminati's Secret 20 Trillion Dollar Bank

There is a busy little private company you probably never have heard about, but which you should. Its name is the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation. See their website. Looks pretty boring. Some kind of financial service thing, with a positive slogan and out there to make a little business. You can even get a job there. Now, go and take a look at their annual report. Starts with a nice little Flash presentation and has a nice message from the CEO. And take a look at the numbers. It turns out that this company holds 23 trillion dollars in assets, and had 917 trillion dollars worth of transactions in 2002 alone. That's trillions, as in thousands of thousands of millions. 23,000,000,000,000 dollars in assets.

As it so turns out, it is not because DTCC has a nice website and says good things about saving their customers money that they are trusted with that kind of resources. Rather it is because they seem to have a monopoly on what they do. In brief, they process the vast majority of all stock transactions in the United States as well as for many other countries. And - and that's the real interesting part - 99% of all stocks in the U.S. appear to be legally owned by them.'

Study: 25 Percent of Antidepressants Prescribed for No Legitimate Reason

Researchers from the University of Manitoba (UM) in Canada recently found that more than a quarter of people who take antidepressant drugs like Prozac and Zoloft do not even have any of the conditions for which the drugs were approved. Data shows that doctors routinely prescribe antidepressants to patients for off-label purposes that the drugs have never been shown to legitimately treat, and patients end up needlessly bearing the brunt of serious side effects in the process.

"We cannot be sure that the risks and side effects of antidepressants are worth the benefit of taking them for people who do not meet criteria for major depression," said Jina Pagura, a psychologist and medical student at UM who contributed to the study. Her sentiment is precisely that of many others who fear that the careless prescribing of antidepressants to people who do not need them is leading to widespread health problems.'

GM Cotton Has Not Improved Yields, But it Has Ruined Sustainable Agriculture

Remember the promises made by Monsanto that genetically-modified (GM) crops would bring higher yields and a better quality of life to the world? A recent study put forth by anthropologists from Washington University (WU) in St. Louis has revealed that Bt cotton, a type of GM cotton that produces its own insecticide, is causing significant problems for sustainable farm management, while offering little to no actual increases in yield.'

The Division of Egypt: Threats of US, Israeli, and NATO Military Intervention?

The parable of the Arab dictators is like that of the spider's web. Although the spider feels safe in its web, in reality the web is one of the frailest homes. All the Arab dictators and tyrants, from Morocco to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, are in fear now. Egypt is on the brink of what could amount to being one of the most important geo-political events in this century.

Pharaohs, ancient or modern, all have their end days. Mubarak's days are numbered, but the powers behind him have not yet been defeated. Egypt is an important part of America's global empire. The U.S. government, Tel Aviv, the E.U., and NATO all have significant interests in maintaining Egypt as a puppet regime.'

Britain’s Prime Minister Whips Up Anti-Muslim Sentiment

British Prime Minister David Cameron used his speech to last weekend’s Munich Security Conference in Germany to proclaim a “sea-change” in the fight against “home-grown” terrorism in Britain.

The Tory leader’s remarks were profoundly anti-democratic. They gave notice that he intends to march in lockstep with the right-wing, anti-Muslim campaign being led by governments across Europe, as they seek to divide the working class in the face of social devastation and imperialist war.

Britain’s experiences, Cameron told the conference, proved that “Europe needs to wake up to what is happening in our own countries”—in particular, that the “biggest threat” was “terrorist attacks, some of which are, sadly, carried out by our own citizens.” Cameron said that the threat came “overwhelmingly from young men who follow a completely perverse, warped interpretation of Islam”.'

US Terror Campaign in Pakistan? What was Raymond Davis Shooting for in Lahore?

The mystery surrounding Raymond A. Davis, the American former Special Forces operative jailed in Lahore, Pakistan for the murder of two young motorcyclists, and his funky "security" company, Hyperion-Protective Consultants LLC, in the US continues to grow.

When Davis was arrested in the immediate aftermath of the double slaying in a busy business section of Lahore, after he had fatally shot two men in the back, claiming that he feared they might be threatening to rob him, police found business cards on him for a security company called Hyperion-Protective Consultants LLC, which listed as its address 5100 North Lane, Orlando, Florida.

A website for the company gave the same address, and listed the manager as a Gerald Richardson.'

Police Use Guns Against Egypt Protesters

An eye witness, who has escaped from southern Egypt to Cairo, says the police use live bullets to disperse protesters instead of tear gas.

Mohammad Abdo has escaped from Kharga and brought to Cairo videos of the police clamp down on the protesters there.

Abdo told Press TV on Wednesday that since Kharga is a small town, the police do not have equipment such as tear gas and therefore use live bullets to disperse the protesters.

Egyptian security forces killed and wounded hundreds of anti-government protesters in Kharga on Wednesday.'

Israel Openly Opposes Democracy in Middle East

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's second-in-command has strictly rejected the establishment of democracy in Egypt, alleging it could have dire consequences.

Deputy Premier Silvan Shalom said attempts at promotion of democracy in Egypt could strengthen what he called radical elements in the country, said Israeli website The Marker, a subdivision of the Ha'aretz newspaper.

He asserted, “We know that, recently in the Middle East, democratic elections have caused the accession to power of radicals like Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Hezbollah in Lebanon".'

Obama Launches Total Takeover of Media System

Even the Washington Post describes it like something out of Orwell’s 1984. The FCC has approved a presidential alert system. Obama may soon appear on your television or call your cell phone to warn you about the next specious al-Qaeda underwear bombing event.

Commissioners voted last week to require television and radio stations, cable systems and satellite TV providers to participate in a test that would have them receive and transmit a live code that includes an alert message issued by the president. No date has been set for the test, according to the Post.'

'Holocaust' Historian Says Massacre of Egyptian Protestors is Desirable

A “Holocaust” historian and former Israeli kibbutznik, "Professor David Cesarani, floated the idea of there being a Tiananmen Square-style massacre in Egypt as a way of quelling potential post-Mubarak anarchy.

"And there has been no outrage. No Twitterstorm, no blog-based apoplexy, no heated radio phone-ins. Perhaps talking about the massacre of Egyptians is normal these days.

"Professor Cesarani was asked by Michael Portillo about the 'moral dilemma' of how to deal with what comes after Mubarak. What if it’s worse than Mubarak? Should it be crushed?'

Confirmed: FBI Got Warning Day Before Oklahoma City Bombing

New documents released under the Freedom of Information Act confirm that the FBI received a phone call the day before the Oklahoma City bombing warning that the attack was imminent, and that the feds tried to reach a deal with bomber Terry Nichols to take the death penalty off the table if he admitted making the call.

The documents were released to Salt Lake City lawyer Jesse Trentadue, who in the course of of a 15 year battle in trying to ascertain why his brother was tortured to death during an FBI interrogation related to the case, has all but proven the attack on the Alfred P. Murrah Building was an inside job run by FBI agents who were handling Timothy McVeigh.'

Trichet Says 'No Haircuts' For Billionaire Bondholders: 'The Plan For Ireland Has Already Been Approved By The World'

Trichet giving Ireland 'The Finger'

European Central Bank chief Jean-Claude Trichet has reiterated his opposition to any debt restructuring by Ireland, saying the terms of the EU-IMF bailout plan for the State have been approved by “the entire world.”

As top ECB officials closely observe the Irish election campaign, this was the second time in five days that Mr Trichet made the case against any restructuring of Ireland’s debt. He relayed the same message last Thursday immediately after the monthly meeting of the bank’s governing council.'

Rich Taking From Poor as $10 Billion U.S. Subsidy Law Funds Luxury Hotels

The landmark Blackstone Hotel in downtown Chicago, which has hosted 12 U.S. presidents, opened in 2008 after a two-year, $116 million renovation. Inside the Beaux Arts structure, built in 1910, buffed marble staircases greet guests spending up to $699 a night for rooms with views of Lake Michigan.

What’s surprising isn’t the opulent makeover: It’s how the project was financed. The work was subsidized by a federal development program intended to help poor communities.'

Ex-Minister Suspected Behind Alexandria Church Bombing

Egypt's general prosecutor on Monday opened probe on former Interior Minister Habib el-Adly's reported role in the New Year's Eve bombing of al-Qiddissin Church in Alexandria in which 24 people were killed, an Egyptian lawyer told Al Arabiya.

Laywer Ramzi Mamdouh said he had presented a proclamation to Egyptian prosecutor Abd al-Majid Mahmud to investigate news media reports suggesting that the former interior ministry had masterminded the deadly church attack with the intent to blame it on Islamists, escalate government crackdown on them, and gain increased western support for the regime.

Mahmud said the information contained in some reports were "serious".'

Black 9/11: A Walk on the Dark Side

In his important 2006 book Nemesis, the Last Days of the American Republic, the third and concluding part of a trilogy, the late Chalmers Johnson, who was an expert on Japan and US foreign policy, writes that as much as 40% of the Pentagon budget is “black,” meaning hidden from public scrutiny. If the figure is even approximately correct, and I believe it is, the number is alarming because it suggests that democratic oversight of US military research and development has broken down. In which case our democratic values and way of life are presently at risk; not from without, as there is no foreign enemy that can destroy the US Constitution, but from within.'

Sec. Clinton Admits Fraudulent Drug War is All About Money

In what is now being dubbed one of the most incoherent and nonsensical statements to be made by a politician in recent days concerning the "drug war", U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently told Mexican reporters that drugs like marijuana can never be legalized because "there is just too much money in it." Displaying a complete lack of understanding concerning basic economics and simple common sense, Clinton foolishly tried to claim that legalization would benefit criminal drug lords, despite the fact that simple supply and demand proves otherwise.'

The Integration of Canada and the USA: 'The Security Perimeter' Derogates National Sovereignty

Canada and the U.S. have officially launched negotiations on a trade and security agreement which would take continental integration to the next level. A declaration issued by the leaders follows months of secret preliminary talks. The deal would work towards facilitating the movement of travel and trade across the northern border. This includes pursuing a perimeter approach to security in an effort to better address common threats. The agreement sets in motion an agenda with the aim of going beyond NAFTA and further expanding on the Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP), but in the context of a bilateral framework.'

Egypt VP: Protests Must End Soon

Omar Suleiman, the Egyptian vice-president, warned on Tuesday that his government "can't put up with continued protests" for a long time, as tens of thousands of pro-democracy protesters rallied in Cairo's Tahrir Square for the sixteenth day in a row.

In a sharply worded statement reflecting the regime's impatience and frustration with the mass demonstrations, the newly appointed Suleiman said the crisis must be ended as soon as possible.

Increasingly the public face of the embattled government, Suleiman said there will be "no ending of the regime" and no immediate departure for President Hosni Mubarak, according to the state news agency MENA, reporting on a meeting between the vice-president and independent newspapers.'

Israel Airstrikes on Gaza Injure 10

At least ten people have been injured as Israeli war planes launched several airstrikes on the besieged Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical sources say.

Israeli fighter jets fired several rockets at a medicine factory at around midnight on Wednesday and triggered a huge blaze. The structure suffered serious damage in the blitz, a Press TV correspondent reported Tuesday.

Firefighters were mobilized to the site in order to put out the fire. Palestinian medical workers carried the wounded to a nearby hospital.'

Fire Hits Ivory Coast's Treasury

A fire that broke out at the Ivory Coast's treasury in Abidjan, destroying a large number of financial documents, has now been contained.

The fire that started on Tuesday damaged several floors of the building before it was brought under control, the Associated Press reported.

Firefighters have refused to speculate on the cause of the blaze.

Last month, the Central Bank of West African States cut off incumbent President Laurent Gbagbo's government from Ivorian accounts in support of Alassane Ouattara, who is regarded by the UN as the winner of the controversial presidential election of November 2010.'

Is El-Baradei for the Egyptian People?

Mohamed el-Baradei, recognized by both the US and other foreign powers, who was absent from Egypt in the past 30 years, wants the top spot in the country.

Let's be clear about this. What you are describing is a cruel deception and a complete hoax; a deception and a betrayal of the Egyptian people.

A map of Turkey was published in the New York Times as a model of what is intended for Egypt. You have to keep in mind that Egypt now under Mubarak and in the past 30 years has become a semi-colonial country - One hundred families own more than 90% of all property and wealth. And the map of Turkey that was published laid out what was intended in Egypt - an alliance between the senior military and the oligarchy to preserve the status quo, to deepen the privatization of the property and the wealth of the country and to intensify the exploitation of its workers.'

Thousands Surround PM Office in Cairo

Over 50,000 protesters have blocked newly-appointed Premier Ahmed Shafiq from entering his office in Cairo, calling for an immediate resignation by him and all of his cabinet members.

Shafiq became premier after embattled President Hosni Mubarak sacked the cabinet amid ongoing massive rallies against his regime.

Protesters dismiss the new designation and say they want Mubarak to give up power and stand trial for the death of protesters.'

Forget Super Bowl Pat Downs, Big Sis Wants Interrogations And Behavioral Tests

Even as Christina Aguilera butchered the words to the American national anthem before the start of last night’s Super Bowl, the hard-fought freedoms recognized in that song were being eviscerated as hired goons conducted 4th Amendment busting pat downs on people entering the stadium.

But if you think that was too invasive, you ain’t seen nothing yet. As part of Homeland Security’s complete takeover of society, at future Super Bowls, TSA agents will get to interrogate you at special checkpoints which will use “physiological” and “behavioral” tests to determine if you’re a terrorist or a criminal.'

Pole Shift Threatens To Cause Weather Chaos

According to some experts, the world’s weather is about to get even more chaotic as a result of natural climate change that we can do absolutely nothing to prevent – and even though global warming alarmists may exploit the consequences to advance their own political agenda, paying a carbon tax to Al Gore will not lessen the impact of a potentially catastrophic magnetic polar shift.

In layman’s terms, the most apocalyptic outcome of a polar shift would come as a result of the the poles flipping, with the south pole becoming the north pole and vice versa. The good news is that on average this only happens every half a million years, but the bad news is that it hasn’t happened in roughly 780,000 years, with some experts warning that the planet is overdue. Pole flips have been known to happen only 50,000 years apart.'

Judge Bans Info to Jurors Informing Them of Their Power

It would appear that a judge in Orlando, Florida, Belvin Perry, Jr. , likes his juries not to know that they have the option to nullify the law. He has put out an administrative order "GOVERNING EXPRESSIVE CONDUCT TOWARD SUMMONED JURORS". The order may be read in its entirety here.

Fully Informed Jury Association (FIJA) activists have been tireless in their efforts to educate Florida juries of their power to nullify the law if they disagree with it or its application. Otherwise juries would be reduced to mere rubber stamps with the government able to convict anyone of anything they choose to make illegal. This is an established principle of law.'

AMAGERBANKEN - $2.8 Billion Bank Failure In Denmark: Senior Bondholders Whacked 41%

It may turn out to be the most important bank you've never heard of.

Amagerbanken was taken over by the Danish government today. As with the Irish banks, Amagerbanken suffered huge losses on loans to property developers and investors in commercial real estate. But the rescue comes under new regulations which stipulate steep losses for bondholders. According to Bloomberg, senior bondholders and depositors over the insured limit will face losses of approximately 41%.

Some bondholders, however, still fall under a government guarantee, but expect Amagerbanken to be held up as an example by those who favor haircuts for bondholders rather than bailouts. In particular, we can expect Ireland's Fine Gael party (pronounced feena gail) to point to Denmark when they make their own case for unilaterally restructuring Ireland's bank debt. And when they do, the cat will be out of the bag.'

USDA Allows GMO Sugar Beet Planting Even After a Landmark Court Decision Says No

According to Reuters, the USDA has said it would take at least two years to develop new regulations in response to the overall ban issued last month by U.S. District Court Judge White.

But it seems there was little victory to enjoy because according to Minnesota Public Radio, the USDA most recently announced that farmers will be allowed to grow genetically modified sugar beets this season, "while it finishes work on a full environmental impact statement on the beets' effect on other crops and the environment." What? If you even think there may be a problem, why would you continue to make it worse?'

Ten Months Later...New Claims: BP Oil Disaster is Causing Health Problems

The Vinny Eastwood Show with Guy and Linda of the Family Taylor

"Guy & Linda Taylor are at the forefront of Lawful Rebellion in the UK, in particular their fight against Council Tax. Having put up such strenuous opposition (over a number of months), and also having had a small amount of feedback from acquaintances within the Court System, they decided to put in a Subject Access Request - under the Freedom of Information Act - to the Local Council.

What they was received back was (literally) REAMS of valuable information - including internal e-mails - which set Guy & Linda rolling on the floor laughing. Put simply: No-one in the Council, its Legal Department, or its outside Legal Service, has a clue how to handle them, or what to do!

Furthermore they now have ample evidence to proceed 'aggressively' with Commercial Liens against certain key individuals (who are hung by their own words).'

DHS Seizes Websites for Merely LINKING to Copyrighted Material

Apparently the Department of Homeland Security is now authorized to rewrite and enforce copyright infringement laws. In a stunning precedent, the recent round of domain seizures to shut down websites that allowed illegal streaming of the Super Bowl also included a few other websites that were seized simply for linking to infringing content.'
