Obama: 'American People Will Feel That I Deserve a Second Term'

President Obama said Friday that he's convinced that voters will come to see him as the candidate best prepared to serve as president by next fall's elections.

The president said he thinks that he can make the case for a second term, though he acknowledged that the state of the economy could be his biggest hurdle to clear in winning reelection.

"I think the economy's going to continue to improve, and I think I'm going to be able to make an effective case that ... I am the person who is best prepared to finish the job so that we are on track to succeed in the 21st century," Obama said in a video interview this morning with The Associated Press.'

Tim Geithner Convinced New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo To Back Off Wall Street Prosecutions

It is a question asked repeatedly across America: why, in the aftermath of a financial mess that generated hundreds of billions in losses, have no high-profile participants in the disaster been prosecuted?

Answering such a question — the equivalent of determining why a dog did not bark — is anything but simple. But a private meeting in mid-October 2008 between Timothy F. Geithner, then-president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and Andrew M. Cuomo, New York’s attorney general at the time, illustrates the complexities of pursuing legal cases in a time of panic.'

Reports of Elder Abuse Result in Restraining Orders . . . But Not How You´d Think

In an unparalleled action in an ex parte hearing on April 1, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Reva Goetz issued a Restraining Order against a local physician, Dr. Laura Moire, blocking her from taking further action or making more reports in regards to conservatee Jean Tanaka.

Dr. Moire, who is considered an expert in elder abuse, is a founder of the Geriatric Division of the American College of Emergency Medicine, a founding member of the American College of Forensic Medicine as well as a member of the White House Conference on Aging, among numerous other honors and affiliations. Dr. Moire took a sole action of calling both Adult Protective Services and the police on the evening of March 30, 2011, in an attempt to alert these agencies as to her concerns of abuse being inflicted upon Mrs. Tanaka through the auspices of conservator Linda Cotterman.'

Armed Agents Kidnap Child From Mother who Used Holistic Treatments Instead of Pharmaceutical Drugs to Treat Condition

Maryanne Godboldo of Detroit, Mich., recently learned the hard way that freedom of choice in medicine is no longer tolerated by the medical mafia in the supposed "land of the free." Recently, armed officers from the Special Response Team (SRT) of the Detroit Police Department (DPD), at the command of Child Protective Services (CPS), unlawfully kicked down the door of Godboldo's home and kidnapped her 13-year-old child. Her crime? Maryanne chose to follow the lead of a doctor's recommendation to take her daughter off a pharmaceutical drug treatment recommendation for psychosis that was worsening the child's symptoms, and instead chose to use natural remedies to treat the condition.

It all started back in 2009 when Maryanne's previously-homeschooled daughter went in for a series of routine vaccinations in order to be enrolled in middle school. Shortly after receiving the shots, the child began to have severe adverse reactions that included "acting out of character, being irritated, having facial grimaces," and other behavioral problems that Maryanne's mother says she had never had before, and all of which emerged immediately after the vaccines were administered.'

British MPs Condemn Prime Minister Over Libya

British lawmakers have condemned Prime Minister David Cameron's talk of regime change in Libya as “outrageous”, saying he is illegally seeking to topple Muammar Qaddafi.

Members of Parliament (MPs) called for a recall of parliament on Friday, insisting that they had only supported the government in its attempt to enforce a no-fly zone over Libya to protect civilians as stipulated by the UN Security Council resolution 1973 last month, British media reported.

David Cameron drew MPs' condemnation when he published a joint article by US president Barack Obama, and French president Nicolas Sarkozy, boasting that Qaddafi “must go, and go for good.'

UK Royal Wedding to Cost the Taxpayer $48 Million

British lavish royal wedding of Prince Williams and his wife-to-be Kate Middleton is to cost British nationals more than $48 million.

It is widely believed that the $48-million cost of the royal wedding on April 29 at London's Westminster Abbey would be paid by British citizens rather than the royal family itself.

Despite being in an atrocious economic condition, Britain will hold the extravagant wedding, for which the UK royal family can certainly afford to pay, since the family reportedly owns billions of pounds.

Libya: Obama, Cameron and Sarkozy Vow Gaddafi Must Go

An open letter by Obama, Cameron & Sarkozy comes at a time of growing unease at the failure of Western military action to dislodge Mr Gaddafi and tensions within Nato over the reluctance of certain members to do more.

While the coalition has no mandate to remove Col Gaddafi by force, "it is impossible to imagine a future for Libya with Gaddafi in power", the leaders say.

To allow him to remain in power "would be an unconscionable betrayal" of Libya's people, they argue, and would make Libya both "a pariah state [and] a failed state".

The three leaders clearly feel that this is an important moment to present a united front and they are saying that it is not enough simply to protect Libyan civilians.

Scientists Successfully Generate Electricity Using Freshwater and Saltwater

By simply utilizing what nature has to offer in terms of water, scientists from Stanford University have developed an effective way to generate electricity naturally and without causing pollution. Yi Cui, associate professor of materials science and engineering at Stanford, and his colleagues have developed a system that generates electricity using electrodes and a combination of freshwater and saltwater -- and nothing more.

The process involves the utilization of ions found naturally in saltwater, as well as those generated by electrodes submerged in water. A positive and negative electrode pair are first used to charge freshwater with ions, which is then drained and replaced with saltwater. The saltwater, which is naturally up to 100 times more ionic than the freshwater, increases the voltage causes a net gain in electricity. This electricity is then captured and stored in large batteries.'

The False Prophet of Obama and his Ministry of Economic Voodoo

A mugger confronts a business man walking down the street, flashing a sharp knife. "Give me all your money. I've got kids to feed," he insists. Momentarily flummoxed, the mugger works out a bit of math and retorts, "Okay, I'm gonna take a balanced approach with you. Just give me HALF of all your money, and we'll call it even."

Such is the logic of the Obama administration, which now absurdly proposes that spending America into a total debt collapse is somehow a "balanced approach." 65 Ways That Everything That You Think That You Own Is Being Systematically Taken Away From You

Everything that you own is slowly being taken away from you. It is being done purposely and it is being done by design.

Many Americans like to think of themselves as "well off", but as will be demonstrated below, we don't "own" nearly as much as we think that we do. The truth is that most of us have to frantically run around accumulating wealth as rapidly as we can so that we can somehow stay ahead of the rate that wealth is being taken away from us. The entire system is designed to take what you have away from you.

There are many ways that this is accomplished - taxation, inflation, debt, interest, fines, fees, tickets, government seizures and good old-fashioned corporate greed. If you tried to just sit back and do nothing but hold on to the wealth that you already have you would find out that it would disappear rather quickly. When you take the time to really analyze our system the conclusion is undeniable - everything that you think that you own is being systematically taken away from you.'

But if you want to get a true sense of what the "shadow budget" is all about, all you have to do is look closely at the taxpayer money handed over to a single company that goes by a seemingly innocuous name: Waterfall TALF Opportunity. At first glance, Waterfall's haul doesn't seem all that huge — just nine loans totaling some $220 million, made through a Fed bailout program. That doesn't seem like a whole lot, considering that Goldman Sachs alone received roughly $800 billion in loans from the Fed. But upon closer inspection, Waterfall TALF Opportunity boasts a couple of interesting names among its chief investors: Christy Mack and Susan Karches.

Christy is the wife of John Mack, the chairman of Morgan Stanley. Susan is the widow of Peter Karches, a close friend of the Macks who served as president of Morgan Stanley's investment-banking division. Neither woman appears to have any serious history in business, apart from a few philanthropic experiences.
