Eight Killed as 5.1 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Spain

An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale has struck a town in southern Spain, killing at least 8 people and causing damages to several houses, officials say.

The quake hit the town of Lorca at 6:47 pm (1647 GMT) with a depth of 10 kilometers (six miles) and left eight people killed and two seriously injured, AFP quoted a spokeswoman for the region of Murcia as saying on Wednesday.'
