Charity youth workers have been criticised after offering free condoms to children as young as eight who were playing in a park.
Angry mother Samantha Fuller says her 13-year-old daughter was given the contraceptives - but she also claims her eight-year-old nephew was asked if he wanted some. Mrs Fuller, who found the condoms in her daughter's bedroom, says Hull-based charity Cornerhouse is effectively encouraging under-age sex and undermining her role as a parent.
The taxpayer-funded organisation has confirmed workers give contraceptives to children, but only to those over 13.

Maybe the charity workers thought they were sweets!
ReplyDeleteI mean really though, what is this irresponsible charity trying to do? Start these kids out early? They shouldn't even be talking to the children.
When l was that age l was told a coathanger was a frangier [condom] by some classmates, and l in my naivety blushed thinking really what are they talking about?
ReplyDeleteYet at the same time saying
"oh is that what it is" trying to pretend l understood.
No wonder they laughed at me then.
How funny it is to me when l think of that now looking at this story.
If these pictured condoms were handed to me years ago at that age l would of thought they were coloured ballons....ha.
S.Harps,
ReplyDeleteYou're funny. The first time I saw a condom I was 17. A girl I knew at college had a packet of strawberry flavoured condoms. A guy and myself as well as the girl were sitting on a bus going home from college. We started talking about various things and she brought out this packet of condoms. Of course, we were curious and wanted to know what a condom actually looked like so she opened the packet and out popped a red condom, we looked at it and she blew it up like a balloon, that was quite funny.
Seriously though, times are changing so much if 13 year olds are being given condoms. That's just crazy.
