Fatah-led Palestinian security officials have killed two Hamas members in an arrest operation in the northern occupied West Bank, Hamas says.
Fatah officials loyal to acting Palestinian Authority Chief Mahmoud Abbas killed Mohammed Yassin and Mahmoud a-Saman, two Hamas activists in the town of Qalqiliya in the north of the Israeli-occupied territory early Sunday morning, The Jerusalem Post reported.
The operation, during which Fatah police tried to arrest the two Hamas commanders, provoked a gunfight between members of Hamas' armed wing and rival Fatah security officials.
