A Rapid Descent Into Organised Chaos by Benn Carey

Winter has taken an icy grip on this place and although we have a few months to go, i have never been so cold. my memories of my seasons in europes mountain ranges seem springlike in comparison. the wind here comes direct from the antarctic, so i guess it comes as no surprise. of course, it is not all bad... this time of the year is one of the most beautiful as the mountains are all covered in snow. the view from where i work of lake wakatipu and the remarkables mountain range is one that the constant stream of tourists i meet describe as the most amazing they have ever seen. i must admit that although there is some fierce competition from other places i have been, i would have to agree.
