US Warns Britain Against Afghan Pullout

UK military commanders have received a blunt warning from senior US military officials not to abide by the premier's call to drawdown troops' number in Afghanistan.

Prime Minister David Cameron was pushing the military to begin a pullout by July, the same time the US is planning to carry out a nominal withdrawal.

However, the US military is said to have cautioned Britain that a premature pullout could seriously damage the US-UK ties.

British officials have also confirmed the US warning, saying that the so-called “special relationship” between the two allies could be over if the Conservative premier does not commit to an open-ended involvement in the US-led war.
