IMF Chief Arrested over Sexual Assault
International Monetary Fund (IMF) Director General Dominique Strauss-Kahn has been arrested in the United States on charges of sexually assaulting a hotel maid in New York.
Strauss-Kahn was arrested at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Saturday just before he was to leave New York for Paris after he was accused of a "sex attack" on a maid at a Times Square hotel earlier in the day, The New York Times reported.
The official was taken off an Air France flight by officers from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and turned over to Manhattan detectives, the newspaper quoted a Port Authority spokesman as saying.'
