MI6 Plotted With No10 to Oust Saddam in Bid to Win 'Prize' of Secure Oil Supplies

MI6 plotted the toppling of Saddam Hussein nearly 18 months before the invasion of Iraq in 2003, secret papers revealed.

Spy chiefs discussed with Downing Street a plan that was layered ‘like an onion’, with ministers openly supporting ‘regime change’ while behind the scenes working closely with those carrying out a coup.

The intelligence service also made clear in newly declassified papers that the ‘prize’ for removing the Iraqi dictator was ‘new security to oil supplies’.'

£2.50 Tax to Take Your Kids to UK Public Park

Parents will be hit with a £2.50 charge for their children to use an adventure playground in a 'tax on fun'.

The pilot scheme at Battersea Park in Central London will see the charge levied at weekends on five-to 16-year-olds.

It comes as boroughs in the city are being forced to make cuts of around £500million this year after a reduction in grants.'

The Wall of Holocaust Denial Begins to Topple: Aboriginal Museum is Forced to Display Evidence of the Canadian Genocide

For the first time in Canadian history, a public museum will exhibit evidence which makes reference to overtly genocidal policies by both the churches and government of Canada towards indigenous people, including in the deadly Indian residential schools.

Relying primarily on the research gathered by Rev. Kevin Annett in his book Hidden No Longer: Genocide in Canada, Past and Present, the aboriginal advisory committee of the new Peel Region Heritage Museum in Brampton, Ontario convinced the Museum designers, Vilnis Cultural Design Works, to establish a display that shows that genocide, according to the United Nations’ definition of the crime, did occur in the Indian residential school system.

The schools were established and run jointly by the Vatican and the Crown of England in 1834, and continued until 1996. According to government statistics, nearly half of the 150,000 children in these schools died because of treatment and conditions there.'

Court: No Right to Resist Illegal Cop Entry Into Home

Overturning a common law dating back to the English Magna Carta of 1215, the Indiana Supreme Court ruled Thursday that Hoosiers have no right to resist unlawful police entry into their homes.

In a 3-2 decision, Justice Steven David writing for the court said if a police officer wants to enter a home for any reason or no reason at all, a homeowner cannot do anything to block the officer's entry.'

The Mysterious Connection Between Sirius and Human History

Since ancient times and across multiple civilizations, Sirius, the dog star, has been surrounded with a mysterious lore. Esoteric teachings of all ages have invariably attributed to Sirius a special status and the star’s importance in occult symbolism is an attestation of that fact. What makes Sirius so special?

Is it simply due to the fact that it is the brightest star in the sky? Or is it also because humanity has an ancient, mysterious connection with it? This article looks at the importance of Sirius throughout History and secret societies and will describe the symbolism surrounding it.'

Worse Than China? U.S. Government Wants To Censor Search Engines And Browsers

We knew that members of Congress and their business allies were gearing up to pass a revised Internet Blacklist Bill -- which more than 325,000 Demand Progress members helped block last winter -- but we never expected it to be this atrocious. Last year's bill has been renamed the "PROTECT IP" Act and it is far worse than its predecessor. A summary of it is posted below.

Senators Leahy and Hatch pretended to weigh free speech concerns as they revised the bill. Instead, the new legislation would institute a China-like censorship regime in the United States, whereby the Department of Justice could force search engines, browsers, and service providers to block users' access to websites, and scrub the American Internet clean of any trace of their existence.'

Ben Bernanke Confronted by WeAreChange

NASA-Funded Group Doctors Sea Level Data

Catastrophic sea level rise is one of the most valued hole cards played by alarmists in the global warming debate. In An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore showed computer generated images of what Manhattan would look like if sea level rose 20 feet. Building on this theme, elevation charts of coastal cities have become a staple in global warming presentations by Al Gore wannabes. But what happens when sea level in the real world does not rise nearly as much as alarmists predict? If you are a NASA-funded gatekeeper of sea level data, you merely doctor the data.'

Jury Rejects State Charges against 7/7 Ripple Effect’s Muad’Dib

At 4pm on Thursday 12th May at Southwark Crown Court the jury returned and declared Muad’Dib (Anthony John Hill) innocent of attempting to ‘pervert the course of justice’.

Mr. Hill has spent 151 days incarcerated in Wandsworth prison over the past few months and this verdict spared him, mercifully, a sentence of up to 20 years in jail.

His offence? He had sent six DVD copies of his film ‘7/7: The Ripple Effect’ to various persons at the time (in 2008) of the trial in Kingston of three ‘terror’ suspects, alleged co-conspirators with the London ‘suicide bombers’. The DVD’s were intercepted and never reached their targets. The Kingston suspects were found innocent (only to later be retried for the same offences, but that’s another story).

Muad’Dib’s trial started on Monday 9th May, with a challenge to the monarchy and, hence, the authority of the court. This was ruled ‘out of order’ by the judge. On Tuesday a jury were sworn in.'

GM Soy Destroying Children

Soy, once touted as a medical miracle, has been outed. Ninety-one percent of the soy we consume is tainted by the filth of the GMO machine, literally the most quietly kept epidemic of our lifetime. Soy makes up a large portion of the diet for the chickens, pigs, and cows some of us eat. Even the vegetarian/vegan community is exposed as a number of meat substitutes list soy as a main ingredient. Soy and soybean oil have wiggled their way into a wide array of processed foods including salad dressings, peanut butter, tamari, mayonnaise, crackers, baby formula, baked good mixes, textured vegetable protein, and the list goes on. So unless you are eating an organic version of any of the above, there is a good chance you are exposing yourself to GMO soy.'

Exxon CEO Admits Speculation Drives Up Oil Prices

On May 12, 2011, when questioned by U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) at a Senate Finance Committee hearing, Exxon Mobil Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rex Tillerson said that oil should cost between $60 and $70 per barrel, if the price of oil were based on supply and demand fundamentals.'

Tepco 'Compensation' for Fukushima Nuclear Crisis is a Political Fraud

The just-approved compensation deal between the Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco) and the Japanese government is being rushed out before the May 30 evacuation order for residents in radiation-threatened areas of Fukushima. The more important deadline for both sides falls on May 20, when Tepco must issue its annual report to shareholders. The deal is more of a bailout for Tepco than its pretense of being a relief package for evacuees.

Tepco is being given 30 years to pay back the government for this bailout with borrowed money. The "compensation" package doesn't cover medical benefits for radiation-caused cancers that are not expected to surface in victims for at least two years from now. The government is going along with this publicity stunt, mainly because most politicians owe Tepco under the reigning system of money politics.'

Sinai Access Blocked to Halt Gaza March

Egyptian authorities on Friday blocked access to the Sinai peninsula, where it stepped up security, to prevent a march from Cairo to Gaza, an AFP correspondent said.

The march was due to leave from Cairo's Tahrir Square on Saturday to protest the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land, and call for the right of return of Palestinian refugees and the release of all Palestinian prisoners.

"Peace Bridge,"one of the main access routes to Sinai from mainland Egypt, has been closed to all but residents of the peninsula.'

Is UK Sincere in Being Surprised at Gaddafi's Use of British Weapons?

The UK government's apparent surprise at what Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi has been doing with weapons supplied to him by the British since the anti-regime protests began in the country, has bewildered analysts.

The current unrests in the Middle East and North Africa and the following suppression of anti-government protesters with weapons and crowd control gadgets supplied by Britain has raised question as to why the UK has emerged as the main provider of lethal arms to dictatorial regimes in the war-torn countries.

British government has reportedly demonstrated its enthusiasm in promoting arms exports to depots in the volatile and mostly oil-rich regions. As the UK has extensively dealt with Saudi Arabia since 1980s, the Al-Yamamah deal is considered as the largest one in the region. Additionally, the country has also established long-term military ties with other authoritarian states, namely Jordan, Bahrain, and Oman.'

Air Passengers' Lunch Details to be Stored in EU Terrorism Plan

The details of millions of British airline passengers will be stored for up to five years under EU plans to tackle terrorism.

Information including names, addresses, credit card details and travel partners will be collated.

The database will store what a passenger ate, where they sat and whether they were flying on to another destination.

The same data could be handed over to any other EU country in which the plane lands. That would include British tourists on package tours to Spain or travellers going to parts of Eastern Europe.

The proposal will be enforced despite the Tories coming to power on a promise to row back the surveillance state.'

BIAS: Taxpayer Funded BBC Censors 'Palestine' from Rap Song

BBC Radio 1xtra has removed the word ‘ Palestine ’ when playing a song by artist, Mic Righteous. In an extraordinary act of censorship, the word was filtered out of a recording as Mic Righteous sang the words ‘Free Palestine’, part of his song ‘Fire in the Booth’.

The censorship took place on the BBC show, Hip Hop M1X with Charlie Sloth, and the BBC has since issued a statement saying: ‘All BBC programmes have a responsibility to be impartial when dealing with controversial subjects…and an edit was made in this instance to ensure that impartiality was not compromised.’

Historic Mississippi River Flood Destroying Millions of Farmland Acres with Polluted, Pesticide-Ridden Flood Waters

As record-breaking Mississippi River flood waters crested this morning near Memphis, Tenn., many other towns and cities along the river are awaiting record-breaking flood levels expected to arrive later this week and early next week. The Washington Post has reported that three million acres of mostly farmland have already been flooded in Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi -- and much of this water is highly polluted with chemicals, pesticides, and other dangerous pollutants that are now surging down towards the Gulf of Mexico.'

South Carolina Challenges Upcoming Federal Ban on Incandescent Light Bulbs

Federal plans to outlaw common incandescent light bulbs in favor of mercury-laden compact fluorescents over the course of the next three years may not end up applying to South Carolinians. Senate panel members in the Palmetto State recently voted unanimously in favor of the Incandescent Light Bulb Freedom Act, also known as H 3735, which will permit incandescent light bulbs made in the state to be sold within the state, and largely exempt South Carolina from the draconian federal restrictions on freedom of light bulb choice.'

Britain's Prime Minister's Office Uses False Names in Correspondence with the Public

Downing Street has told the BBC it uses false names on letters to MPs and members of the public.

The admission came after Labour MP Sir Gerald Kaufman said he got a letter from No 10 signed by a "Mrs E Adams".

But when he called Downing Street he was told she did not exist as the name was "computer-generated", which meant the signature was false.

A No 10 spokesman said real names had not been used on correspondence since 2005 for security reasons.'

Bangladeshi Force Trained by UK Police 'Allowed to Kill and Torture'

The Bangladeshi government has allowed a British-trained paramilitary force to secretly detain, torture and kill hundreds of people with impunity over the past two years, a report warns.

The report, released by the New York-based NGO, Human Rights Watch, catalogues a series of extrajudicial killings, forced disappearances and deaths in custody of the Rapid Action Battalion. Citing a lack of redress for victims, and the government's dismal record of failing to prosecute a single perpetrator, the NGO has called on the Bangladeshi government to disband the RAB and for the UK and US to withdraw support unless they take active steps to hold the force to account.'

David Frum and the Winds of War

Shocker: noted neocon makes the case for invading Pakistan

No sooner had my last column been posted, then CNN posted David Frum’s latest screed, in which the former speechwriter for George W. Bush asked: “Has our mission in Afghanistan become obsolete?”

Frum, who authored the “axis of evil” phraseology that set the tone for the Bush presidency, isn’t having second thoughts about the interventionist foreign policy he’s always championed: no, he’s just wondering if, as he puts it, “The world’s most important terrorist safe haven is visibly not Afghanistan, but instead next-door Pakistan.”

According to Frum, “Because the U.S. presence in Afghanistan requires cooperation from Pakistan, the Afghanistan mission perversely inhibits the United States from taking more decisive action against Pakistan’s harboring of terrorism.” The US has got it “upside down,” he says: Pakistan is the real Enemy. He then goes into a laundry list of aggressive actions he would like us to engage in, including US military action to “disable” Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal.'

Israel Revokes 140,000 Palestinian ID Cards

Thousands of Palestinians traveling abroad have reportedly been stripped of residency status after the Tel Aviv regime executed the plan without warning.

Documents from Israel's justice ministry reveal that Israel used a covert procedure to cancel the residency status of 140,000 West Bank Palestinians between 1967 and 1994, Ha'artz newspaper reported Wednesday.

The report added that the procedure was used on Palestinian residents of the occupied West Bank who wished to travel abroad via Jordan. They were ordered at the Allenby Bridge border crossing to exchange their ID cards for a card allowing them to cross.'

Israeli Forces, Tanks Cross into Gaza

Israeli forces backed by tanks and bulldozers have crossed into the Gaza Strip, destroying Palestinian farmlands in north of the enclave.

Israeli soldiers apparently entered the Palestinian territory from Karni crossing on Wednesday and advanced hundreds of meters toward the east of Gaza City.

According to Press TV's correspondent in Gaza, Israeli soldiers dug a series of holes in the area and filled them with explosives.

Israeli soldiers then blew up the explosives, causing loud explosions in the area, our correspondent added.'

Yemeni Troops Shoot Protesters, Kill Two

Yemeni security forces have opened fire on anti-government protesters in the capital, killing at least two demonstrators, witnesses say.

The shooting came after tens of thousands of protesters that gathered near Sana'a University marched toward the Cabinet building in a bid to bring further pressure on President Ali Abdullah Saleh to resign.

Over 40 others were also injured in the attack.

The march, however, was interrupted as protesters rushed to help and evacuate the wounded from the scene and take them to hospitals.

Florida Bows To Big Pharma & Keeps Mercury In Vaccines

On Friday, May 6, 2011, in Tallahassee, Florida, a Republican State Senator filed an amendment to regulate vaccines containing mercury in Florida. The amendment would have made it illegal to buy, sell, manufacture, deliver, import, administer or distribute any vaccine that contained more than 0.3 micrograms of organic or inorganic mercury per milliliter for children younger than age 7 or pregnant women. Despite support for this vaccine safety measure, the amendment was voted down.'

Senate Seeks to Create Caesar

While all of America is distracted and focused on the death of Osama bin Laden, our President and his minions have been fast at work laying the groundwork for S. 679: Presidential Appointment Efficiency and Streamlining Act of 2011 to speed through the Senate and then make its way into the House and then to the President to sign. Yes, the other hand is quickly forming into a dictatorial fist that is about to smash our Constitution.

As you will recall, the beginning of the end of liberty in Rome commenced with Augustus Caesar who compromised the authority of the Senate through the force of arms and basically the Senate became a facade. America is poised with this proposed bill, to morph immediately from a Republic into an empire with the privileged eunuchs of the Senate as window dressing and a dictator – the first American Caesar – at the country’s helm.'

Shadow Government Bunkers: Security Heightened at Underground Storage Facilities

As we’ve noted before on a number of occasions, the US government is preparing for Unlikely Events Like War, Catastrophic Collapse of Society, and Even Asteroids and the Pentagon and Military are Actively War Gaming ‘Large Scale Economic Breakdown’ and ‘Civil Unrest’. In addition to security and law enforcement implications, it doesn’t take much of a stretch of the imagination to come to the conclusion that war gaming these scenarios takes into account continuity of government directives, which means that elite members of reserve government elements need a place to go if the SHTF.

The fact that bunkers exist is no secret, and as was pointed out in the aforementioned articles, there are many of them around the country. Rumor has it that the government has built literal underground cities spanning hundreds of thousands of square feet, complete with everything from nuclear power generation to facilities capable of manufacturing just about any modern day product. The idea is that in the event of a global cataclysm, the human race would be able to survive and thrive, without losing the technological advancements achieved over the last couple of centuries.'

Irish Government Taxes PRIVATE Pensions To Pay For Spending

Ireland's ability to levy further taxes on other parts of the economy is restricted because its economic growth has been inhibited in the wake of a financial crisis that crippled its banking sector and decimated its public finances.

Unwilling to budge on the country's low corporate tax rate, Enda Kenny's Irish government has chosen to target pensioners for funds to grow the economy. Whether it turns out to be an example to other countries seeking alternative ways to raise revenues with aging populations is yet unknown.'

UK has Spent More Bailing Out Other Countries Than it has Saved Through Austerity

'The UK has already spent more on bailing out countries in the eurozone than it has saved through austerity measures this year, according to Conservative MP Douglas Carwell.

"Bailouts for the Irish and Portuguese already dwarf all the savings to tackle the deficit over the last year. A Greek bailout on top of that would be astonishingly unfair on British taxpayers and pensioners," Carwell said to the Daily Mail.'

TSA Agents Search BABY As Possible Terrorist

In the last few months we have all seen the TSA take the police state to a whole new level.

UK Conducted ‘Virginity Tests’ on Immigrants

Recently uncovered United Kingdom Home Office documents show that the British government hid how often it subjected female immigrants hoping to enter the country to "virginity tests."

The documents, discovered by Australian legal academics Dr. Marinella Marmo and Dr. Evan Smith, suggest that at least 80 south Asian women underwent "virginity tests" in the late 1970s.

Alex Lyon, a former Labour immigration minister, called for the practice to be stopped in 1975, but the documents show that 73 women were subjected to the tests in New Delhi and nine in Bombay at British embassies between 1976 and 1979. The tests were applied to women coming to Britain to marry British citizens to confirm the their marital status.'

FEMA to Confiscate Food from Local Farms in Emergencies?

Since our nation's founding the federal government has, in times of emergency, claimed extra-constitutional powers and authority. Under the guise of acting in the public's best interests, Washington has taken away privacy rights, free speech, and habeas corpus, among others. There's no reason to think it wouldn't happen again.

With that in mind, would it surprise you to find out that if disaster strikes in your part of the country, the federal government is prepared to take over local food supplies, in part by confiscating farms?'

Mobile Phones Soon Required to Receive, Display White House Propaganda Messages

If you're tired of all the half-truths, the propaganda and the complete disinformation that has been spewing from the White House for at least the last twelve years, you can always turn off your television. Switch off the radio. Or just like everybody else, stop reading printed newspapers. But the U.S. government has decided it must reach you with its official propaganda one way or another, so now it is mandating that all mobile phones sold in the United States automatically receive and display "terror messages" from the White House.'

China: The New Bin Laden

Fear and war were used to keep everyone in line, but not even Orwell anticipated Homeland Security feeling up the genitals of air travelers and shopping center customers. Every day in people’s lives, there came over the TV the Two Minutes of Hate. An image of Emmanuel Goldstein, a propaganda creation of the Ministry of Truth, who is designated as Oceania’s Number One Enemy, appeared on the screen. Goldstein was the non-existent “enemy of the state” whose non-existent organization, “The Brotherhood,” was Oceania’s terrorist enemy. The Goldstein Threat justified the “Homeland Security” that violated all known Rights of Englishmen and kept Oceania’s subjects “safe.”

Since 9/11, with some diversions into Sheik Mohammed and Mohamed Atta, the two rivals to bin Laden as the “Mastermind of 9/11,” Osama bin Laden has played the 21st century roll of Emmanuel Goldstein. Now that the Obama Regime has announced the murder of the modern-day Goldstein, a new demon must be constructed before Oceania’s wars run out of justifications.'

Corporate Donations and the 2012 Presidential Elections

The 2012 presidential election promises to have the most anonymous campaign donations in U.S. history. The Obama administration can prevent this further corruption of U.S. democracy by taking two steps, neither of which requires action by Congress.'

Those Libyan 'Freedom Fighters': The Fix is On

So the head of the opposition movement is on the CIA payroll, and the first order of business of the insurgent regime is to create a central bank that takes orders from international finance capital. Doesn’t look real good for "freedom" in Libya, does it? Looks pretty damn good for the banksters, though.

Massive anti-Saudi Rally Held in Cairo

Protesters have staged a rally outside the Saudi embassy in Cairo to denounce Riyadh efforts to block the prosecution of ousted Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak.

The protesters on Tuesday condemned Saudi interference in preventing the trial of Egypt's former dictator.

Israel Not to Stop Settlement Work

Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has censured the Palestinian unity agreement, saying Tel Aviv will not stop settlement constructions.

Lieberman said that the Palestinian unity pact would disrupt peace efforts, adding no moratorium would take effect in settlement activities in al-Quds (Jerusalem), Judea or Samaria, Reuters reported on Tuesday.

"The Palestinians are overly confident and are assuming that they have the complete support of the international community. This allows them to think that they will gain more directly from the international community than through negotiations with Israel,” Lieberman said.'

Criminal Suspects to Be Charged Through the Post

Some offenders who have been bailed by police will receive formal notices in the mail ordering them to court, to save officers having to call them back to the police station.

The move will target those charged with a range of offences including theft, criminal damage and shoplifting.

It is part of a broader move to hand police back the power to charge criminals.

The Crown Prosecution Service currently decides in all but the most minor offences whether to prosecute.

But the Home Secretary wants the balance shifting back to police with officers eventually deciding in eight out of ten offences.'

The Terrorist Who Got Away...Strikes Again

Economist Morgan Kelly reveals in the Irish Times today that a deal last November to haircut approximately 30B Euro of Irish bank debt was sabotaged by financial terrorist Tim Geithner. The 20B Euro or so reduction in Irish bank debt entailed by the haircut would not, of course, have saved Ireland from sovereign default, but it would have been a symbolic victory and would have set a good precedent.

But Geithner and the ECB would have none of it. Kelly recounts a G-7 conference call in which Geithner struck down the deal to haircut bondholders.'

According to the reports, Qatar's Industry and Commerce Minister Hassan Abdulla Fakhro told his Israeli counterpart in a phone conversation that his country was willing to export natural gas to the Jewish state "for an unlimited period of time and below market prices".

The Israeli minister, the reports said, "voiced his appreciation for the Qatari government's stance" on the issue.

It should be noted that Qatar is an important player in the global natural gas market. It controls 15% of the world's gas reserves and is considered a leading global supplier in this field.'

NATO Units Left 61 African Migrants to Die of Hunger and Thirst

Dozens of African migrants were left to die in the Mediterranean after a number of European and Nato military units apparently ignored their cries for help, the Guardian has learned.

A boat carrying 72 passengers, including several women, young children and political refugees, ran into trouble in late March after leaving Tripoli for the Italian island of Lampedusa. Despite alarms being raised with the Italian coastguard and the boat making contact with a military helicopter and a Nato warship, no rescue effort was attempted.

All but 11 of those on board died from thirst and hunger after their vessel was left to drift in open waters for 16 days. "Every morning we would wake up and find more bodies, which we would leave for 24 hours and then throw overboard," said Abu Kurke, one of only nine survivors. "By the final days, we didn't know ourselves … everyone was either praying, or dying".'

Cheney: Reinstate Torture Methods in US

Former US Vice President Dick Cheney has praised harsh interrogation techniques such as waterboarding, saying they should be reinstated for intelligence-gathering purposes.

In an interview with Fox News on Sunday, Cheney claimed that torture methods used against alleged terror suspects when he was serving during the Bush administration contributed to the tracking down of al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, who was reportedly killed last week in Pakistan, AFP reported.

"All have said one way or the other that the enhanced interrogation program played a role," said Cheney, adding that "My guess is that's probably the case that it contributed, just as did a number of other factors".'

After the former Mossad chief described striking Iran as a “foolish idea,” an Israeli security official says there is no solution but to attack Tehran if other options fail.

“An aerial attack against Iran's nuclear reactors would be foolish,” Meir Dagan said in a conference of senior faculty members at the Hebrew University in al-Quds (Jerusalem) on Friday

"Those who strike in Iran must realize that they may prompt a regional war, where missiles will be fired by Iran and by Hezbollah from Lebanon as well," the former Mossad chief said.

In reaction to Dagan's remarks, another former head of Mossad Dani Yatom said on Sunday that he personally would not rule out military action against Iran if all other actions are unsuccessful.'

'Bin Laden Dead Long Before US Raid'

Iran's intelligence minister says the country has reliable information that former head of the al-Qaeda terrorist group Osama bin Laden died of disease some time ago.

“We have accurate information that bin Laden died of illness some time ago,” Heidar Moslehi told reporters on the sidelines of a Cabinet meeting on Sunday.

He questioned Washington's claim that bin Laden was killed by American troops in a hiding compound in Pakistan on May 1.

“If the US military and intelligence apparatus have really arrested or killed bin Laden, why don't they show him (his dead body) why have they thrown his corpse into the sea?” Moslehi asked.'
