The ‘pensions apartheid’ is creating a two-tier workforce with millions facing an impoverished retirement, official figures have revealed.
The number of workers in the public sector who enjoy ‘gold-plated’ pensions is nearly double that in the private sector.
The figures from the Office for National Statistics show the situation is getting worse every year.
