Germans To Fork Over 66% Of Taxes To Bankers

Germany’s parliament today passed a bill that will mean that about 66 per cent of the country’s income tax revenue each year will go to banks in the form of interest payments on souvereign dent bonds held by Greece, Portugal and other eurozone nations.

Chancellor Angela Merkel’s centre-right coalition government voted to give 123 billion as Germany’s portion of a 750-billion euro loan guarantee package prepared by the European Union and the International Monetary Fund to enable governments to keep up interest payments to banks on souvereign debt.'

Germans Turn Against the EU as Eurozone Meltdown Heaps Misery on Angela Merkel

Unlike the lily-livered British red-tops, the main German tabloid, Bild Zeitung, puts nipples on the front page. Day after day for the past week, it has been metaphorically stripping naked the same victim, then pouring cold baked beans over her head. Once-divorced mother-of-none Angela Merkel, 55, from Berlin, a chancellor of Germany, has had probably the worst seven days of her life.

To imagine the full scale of Mrs Merkel's disaster, think of it as a bit like that moment in 2008 when Britain suddenly had to find £46 billion of public money to bail out the banks, overnight storing up years of spending cuts, tax rises and general misery for everyone else. Then multiply the amount of money potentially required, and the amount of pain which could be inflicted, by three.

in the fact that the people the German government has had to rescue aren't even Germans, but Greeks. Add that the deal was done only after the repeated prodding by Mrs Merkel's great European rival, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who reportedly threatened to pull out of the euro. Then there was the problem that as all this was unfolding, Mrs Merkel had to face a vital election.

'Greece Being Forced to Buy Arms'

A leading European parliamentarian has accused France and Germany of forcing Greece to buy billions of euros in arms in exchange for their bailout money.

France and Germany, while publicly urging Greece to make harsh public spending cuts, bullied its government to confirm billions of euros in arms deals, Franco-German lawmaker Daniel Cohn-Bendit alleged on Friday.

The accusation drew a stern denial from the French government.

Cohn-Bendit said he had met last week in Athens with Papandreou, a long-time friend of his, and accused German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy of blackmailing the Greek leader.'

Merkel Misled Germans

She was initially hailed as the “Iron Chancellor” for holding out against a bailout for the Greeks. But this weekend Angela Merkel was accused of having misled voters after it emerged that Germany would contribute more than €25 billion (£21.7 billion) towards a rescue package.

Merkel was forced to concede last week that Germany would pay the lion’s share of the EU money to be pumped into Greece by 2012.'

Most Germans Back Afghan Pullout

A recent survey shows some 70% of the German population backs the immediate withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, as Berlin struggles to win support for the unpopular war.

The opinion poll conducted by independent research institute Infratest dimap also indicated that some 53% of the Germans surveyed do not believe national security is being defended through the Afghan mission.

This comes as a blow to Chancellor Angela Merkel, who has been trying to convince the German public that the Afghan mission is directly related to national security.'

German Troops in Afghanistan Call on Angela Merkel to Explain Why They're at War

German soldiers are wearing their hearts on their sleeves - in the form of a badge that protests their country's involvement in the war in Afghanistan.

Some troops have taken to wearing the cloth accessory that states - ironically - 'I fight for Merkel' in a bid to persuade the German Chancellor Angela Merkel to explain exactly what they are fighting and dying for.'

Germany Fights to Keep Holocaust Organiser's Files Sealed

Those hoping to have a 50-year secrecy order overturned believe the government is embarrassed by details within that may prove German and Vatican officials colluded in his escape and freedom.

The secrecy order is being challenged in a benchmark court case against the BND, Germany's domestic intelligence service, which wants the 4,500 pages of documents on Adolf Eichmann to remain out of the public domain. The service claims that intelligence agencies in other countries will be "frightened off" in future data-sharing if they are disclosed, Der Spiegel reported.

Critics believe this is a smokescreen designed to avoid official embarrassment both in Berlin and the Vatican. It is well documented that German Bishop Alois Hudal in Rome operated postwar "Ratlines," getting passports for wanted Nazis to allow them to escape justice.'

One in Four Germans Wants Microchip in Body

It sounds like something from a sci-fi film, but one in four Germans would be happy to have a microchip implanted in their body if they derived concrete benefits from it.

The survey, conducted by German IT industry lobby group BITKOM, was intended to show how the division between real life and the virtual world is increasingly coming down.

In all, 23 per cent of around 1000 respondents in the survey said they would be prepared to have a chip inserted under their skin "for certain benefits".

Around one in six (16 per cent) said they would wear an implant to allow emergency services to rescue them more quickly in the event of a fire or accident.

Five per cent of people said they would be prepared to have an implant to make their shopping go more smoothly.

But 72 per cent said they would not "under any circumstances" allow electronics in their body.'

German Foreign Minister Backs Idea of European Army

Germany supports the creation of a European army in the long term so that the EU can be a "global player," Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle told the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.

"The long-term goal is the establishment of a European army under full parliamentary control. The European Union must live up to its political role as a global player. It must be able to manage crises independently. It must be able to respond quickly, flexibly and to take a united stand," he said.

"We want strong European crisis management. This is not intended to replace other security structures. More Europe is not a strategy directed against anyone. No one has any reason to fear Europe, but everyone should be able to depend on Europe," he added.'

Israel to Station German Nuclear Capable Submarine in Persian Gulf

Ahead of an Israeli-German cabinet meeting in Berlin, median reports indicate that Israel intends to station one of its German-made Dolphin submarines in the waters of the Persian Gulf.

"Israel's use of the dolphin submarine in exercises in the red sea aroused fears that Israel may seek to maintain a continued presence in the Persian Gulf as soon as it receives its submarines form Germany in 2011-2012," the tagesspiegel said on Sunday.'

Germany Says Full-body Airport Scanner 'Nonsense'

Germany will not participate in EU proposals for airports to use full-body scanner security checks, which have raised privacy issues, its interior ministry said on Friday.

"I can tell you in all clarity that we will not take part in this nonsense," a spokeswoman for the interior ministry told a regular news conference.

The executive European Commission proposed last month to add body scanners to a list of security measures that can be used at airports in the 27-country bloc.

EU lawmakers criticized the scanners in a resolution on Thursday, saying they were equivalent to "a virtual strip search" and raised serious human rights concerns. The lawmakers called for a detailed study of the technology before it is used.'

Germany to Introduce New RFID Card

The German Interior Ministry confirmed on Monday that new identification cards containing radio-frequency (RFID) chips will be introduced starting November 1, 2010 – but some data protection experts are critical of the decision.

“It’s smaller than the old one, but can do a lot more,” Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière said in a statement.

The information on the card itself will be digitally stored on the RFID chip inside the card, in addition to two fingerprint scans that German citizens can choose to opt out of. The ID will also have a digital signature that can be used to complete official business with government offices and possibly beyond – accessed only by a six digit PIN number.'

Ukraine to Get Swine Flu Jabs Rejected By Germans

The German government is planning to give swine flu vaccine to the Ukraine and other countries after less than 5 % of the people took the untested jab even by the government's own somewhat inflated estimates.

Only 15 % of doctors and health care workers took the jab.

Health Minister Philip Rösler has said that Ukraine could be the recipient of 2.2 million doses of the Pandemrix jab, classified as a bioweapon by EU and US regulators according to biopharma drug databases.'

German Doctor Accuses Health Ministry of 'Massive Lies' Concerning Adjuvant Squalene

The head of the Health Net of Alzey und Framersheimer, GP Dr Friedel Rohr, has accused the German Health Ministry of deceiving the general public about the risks associated with the swine flu jab.

In a report in the local newspaper, Allgemine Zeitung, Alzey, Rohr said that there had been "massive lies" on the part of the German government concerning the jab and the adjuvant squalene.

He said it was not true to say that the adjuvant was needed by the pharmaceutical industry because there was too little vaccine to go round.

"There is sufficient vaccine without adjuvants in the whole world," he said.'

Ernst Zundel's Words Proven True - See For Yourself

Ernst Zundel has been denounced as crazy for saying that Germany is not a legal sovereign state, that the United States maintains illegal control over the nation. Now, the former head of German intelligence corrobotaes EXACTLY what Zundel has been saying for years!

The US government cannot make secret agreements with other nations, it is illegal and unconstitutional. Thus, Germany is not legally required to allow the United States government to control it, and can just cast aside the provisions of the secret agreement made under duress in the years following WWII.'

German Doctors Refuse to Be Bullied by Authorities Into Giving 'Swine Flu' Jab

Fredrich Hoffmann, the head of Germany's national vaccine commission, has told doctors that they should give the untested "swine flu" jab to their patients no matter what their opinion about it might be, but German doctors are refusing to bow down and be bullied.

The German national vaccine commission is made up of members with financial and other ties to pharmaceutical companies, and so it does not come as a surprise that Hoffmann is putting pressure on German doctors to give patients the lethal "swine flu" jab even though those same doctors will be liable to pay compensation for any damage and death caused by the jabs because the pharma companies have been given immunity.

However, doctors in Germany are refusing to be bullied by the authorities in league with big pharma into roll ingout a "swine flu" jab campaign that will make billions for vaccine companies.'

Berlin Wants to Rid Germany of US Nukes

Germany's new ruling coalition will call for US nuclear weapons to be removed from the country's territory, according to a document seen by AFP.

The precise make-up of the new German government will become known in the coming days, following negotiations between Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservative Christian Democrats and the pro-business Free Democrats.

A copy of the parties' new common programme, which is due to be finalised by the end of the week, said Germany would support US President Barack Obama's call for a world without nuclear weapons.
