Cuts are 'Hitting the Wrong Targets': Axeing Services Risks Social Unrest, Ministers Warned


Ministers may be axing valuable public services while leaving wasteful programmes unscathed as they attempt to save £81billion, a leading think-tank has warned.

The Government has focused too much on the bottom line and is implementing the cuts in the ‘wrong way’, it claimed.

The policy could even lead to ‘social breakdown’ if cuts are not better targeted.
