Who Was Saul Alinsky?


When thinking about 1960’s Jewish radicals, Saul Alinsky is probably not the first name that pops into your head. The mass media rarely exposes the real leaders behind the infamous counter-culture movement that changed American history. Every now and then you may see a generic TV blurb about Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, and the Chicago Seven. Or you may even hear about radical Jewish feminists like Betty Friedan and Gloria Steinam. But, chances are the majority of Americans have no idea who any of these people are, nor can they comprehend the magnitude of their involvement in changing our way of life. Without a doubt, almost no Americans have any clue about these radicals’ common ethnicity or motivations. The simple fact that 99 out of 100 Americans would not be able to identify a Jewish radical like Saul Alinsky shows the true goals of the media moguls. Is it not important for the public to know about those individuals who played major roles in shaping our culture? Should we ignore the overwhelming Jewish domination of most counter-culture movements? Or are sports and sitcoms more worthwhile of our time?'
