Snow Emergency Declared in New York


New York City has declared a weather emergency as weather forecasters warn that a new storm is set to hit the northeast of the United States and cause several flight cancellations.

The US National Weather Service is predicting a wave of steady snow to develop and head up the eastern seaboard, while another one is moving in from the Ohio and Tennessee valleys.

The two low pressure systems are set to merge off the mid-Atlantic coast and rapidly intensify late Tuesday.

The blast of snow is expected to make a landfall late Tuesday local time and into the overnight hours with the heaviest snow to fall east of New York City.'
