Murdoch Founded Childrens Research Institute: Alternative Medicine May Harm Kids

Prescribing alternative treatments such as homeopathic remedies instead of conventional medicines to children can cause deadly side effects in certain cases.

Australian researchers studied the adverse events associated with the use of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) in children and reported 39 adverse events including 4 deaths in those receiving alternative treatments from January 2001 through December 2003.

Laying aside the fact that the Childrens Institute publishing this story is founded and funded by Rupert Murdoch's mother and daughter in law the fact that 4 children died in a two year period due to homeopathic medicine pales into insignificance against the hundereds of thousands of men wonen and children that are butchered every year by doctors and big pharma using conventional medicine.

  1. Well, conventional medicines are more harmful to children and even adults in my opinion.

Children are generally more delicate and sensitive to most things, so it is very important to be careful and sensible with what they are given in general, regardless of whether it is naturally occurring or man-made.

The real fact here is that anything given to children needs to be closely monitored.

I don't even see why this is an argument or discussion to discredit alternative remedies.

Fact is that there is room for conventional medicine and alternative remedies. People should be given a choice and a right to choose what they want, and not be force-fed with what people with mainly financial interests want.
