An Israeli delegation of eye surgeons has received a chilly welcome in the Republic of Maldives, where angry people accused them of organ harvesting.
The delegation of “Eye from Zion” organization arrived in the islands on Thursday, a year after Tel Aviv renewed diplomatic relations with the nation.
The relations between the two countries were severed following the 1973 Ramadan war, Israel's Ynet news website reported on Tuesday.
The angry protesters held demonstrations in front of the hotel where the eye surgeons stayed, burning the Israeli flag and calling for the deportation of the delegation.'
