David Cameron's EU Bill 'Too Little Too Late', say MPs

The Prime Minister will attempt to reassert his eurosceptic credentials by launching an EU Bill promising MPs and the British people their say on any proposed transfer of sovereignty to the European Union.

But the move was condemned last night as a "cosmetic gesture" by Tory MPs who are still furious that Mr Cameron reneged on a pledge to hold a referendum on the controversial Lisbon Treaty, which has already transferred key powers to EU control.

The Prime Minister is coming under increasing pressure not to wave through revisions to the Treaty being demanded by France and Germany.'

U.S. Ratchets Up Contra War II Against Nicaragua

Borrowing its war plan against the Sandinista government of Nicaragua from Ronald Reagan, George H W Bush, and Oliver North, the Obama administration has given a green light to two neighbors of Nicaragua — Costa Rica and Honduras — to ratchet up tensions on their borders with Nicaragua.

On October 18, 2010, WMR reported: “Costa Rican police and DIS personnel are allegedly involved in the cross-border [drug] trafficking. Currently, a Colombian bank is being used to buy up land along the Costa Rican-Nicaraguan border ostensibly for “tourist” purposes but the $2 billion project is designed to establish staging areas for renewed Contra warfare in Nicaragua if the Sandinistas remain in power beyond the 2011 election. The US private military contractor Dyncorp is also involved in providing assistance to the Contras using the cover of ‘humanitarian assistance.’”

On October 28, Nicaragua accused Costa Rica of staging cross border raids by Costa Rican paramilitary police into Nicaraguan territory. Costa Rica has been warning Nicaragua against dredging the San Juan River inside Nicaraguan territory. Costa Rica, which fancies itself as an ecological ”green haven,” claims the dredging of the river is causing environmental damage. It is strongly suspected that no such legal basis exists.'

Israeli Government Documents Show Deliberate Policy to Keep Gazans at Near-Starvation Levels

After the Republicans gained control of the House, GOP Senator Lindsey Graham has urged Washington to "destroy" the Islamic Republic through military action.

“Not to just neutralize their nuclear program, but to sink their navy, destroy their air force and deliver a decisive blow to the Revolutionary Guard, in other words neuter that regime," Graham said on Saturday

Israeli Jets Bomb Homes in Gaza

Israeli war planes have attacked the Gaza Strip, bombing Palestinian houses in Khan Yunis and the tunnel network in Rafah in the south of the enclave.

Israeli jets flew over Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip on Saturday, bombing civilian houses in the city, a Press TV correspondent in Gaza reported.

It was not immediately known if there were any casualties in the airstrike.

The second blitz, which struck Rafah, targeted the Palestinians' underground tunnels leading to Egypt and left one person injured.'

The US Embassy in Copenhagen has allegedly conducted secret surveillance activities in the Danish capital, a media broadcaster in Denmark says.

Denmark's TV-2 commercial broadcaster reported that a unit attached to the US Embassy has been carrying out surveillance activities in Copenhagen.

In his memoir, “Decision Points,” to hit bookshelves on Tuesday, Bush revealed that he obtained an intelligence report about a “suspicious, well-hidden facility in the eastern desert of Syria”, which closely resembled a nuclear facility at Yongbyon in North Korea, the Jerusalem Post reported on Friday.

Afterwards, he telephoned the then Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to discuss what decision should be made in dealing with the allegations that the facility was aimed at developing nuclear weapons, an accusation flatly rejected by Syrian officials at that time.'

UK to Revisit Law Israel Loathes

William Hague, the visiting British foreign secretary, yesterday renewed his government's pledge to amend a law that threatens Israeli officials with the possibility of arrest on entering the UK.

The reassurance, in a meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, came a day after Israel's foreign ministry, in anger over the law, rebuffed London by suspending an annual round of top-level security talks.

After the meeting between Mr Hague and Mr Netanyahu in Tel Aviv, the prime minister's office issued a statement saying Israel "welcomes" the British government's "explicit commitment" to amend its universal jurisdiction law. It allows British courts to issue arrest warrants for alleged violators of international human rights and humanitarian law. Ireland Announces Record Budget Cuts

The Irish government has announced plans to make 15 billion Euros in budget cuts to reduce the country's deficit and outlined the effective date of the cuts.

In what has been described as "a significant frontloading," the government said it would cut 6 billion Euros in 2011 aimed at reducing the deficit to 9.25%-9.5% of the GDP (Gross Domestic Product), reported the state-run BBC on Thursday.

By 2014, the Emerald Isle's government plans to bring down the deficit to as far down as 3% of the GDP.

The government says savings would be made through spending cuts and higher taxes, thus improving the living standards of all its citizens.'

Former US president George Bush has admitted that he personally approved a request by CIA agents to use waterboarding -- a form of torture that simulates drowning.

Hidden from History Books Systematically Destroyed across Canada

Copies of the historic book Hidden from History: The Canadian Holocaust have disappeared this week from the libraries at McGill and Concordia Universities, and from local aboriginal resource centers, following on a similar disappearance of the book from the Vancouver Public Library and the University of B.C. Library system during October.

British-Israeli Strategic Talks Suspended

Strategic talks between Britain and the Israeli regime have been suspended in a row over a law which allows British courts to arrest and prosecute Zionist authorities for war crimes.

Britain and Israel hold strategic dialogue annually to discuss security issues and bilateral relations.

This year's strategic dialogue meeting, which had been expected to take place in Britain last month, did not happen, a diplomatic source said.
