'UN Camp Source of Cholera in Haiti'

According to a report conducted by Professor Renaud Piarroux and submitted to the French foreign ministry in November, a Nepalese camp housing United Nations' peacekeepers at Mirebalais town in central Haiti is believed to have been the primary source of the cholera infection.

"The source of the infection came from the Nepalese camp," AFP quoted a source close to the matter as saying on Tuesday.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss about the report, stated that Dr. Piarroux's study indicates that Haiti's Artibonite river was tainted by a base of UN troops from Nepal.'
