N Korea Threatens US with 'Sacred War'

North Korea has threatened to use what it describes as a powerful nuclear deterrence in response to a US-South Korea joint naval maneuver.

Pyongyang says it would begin a "sacred war" against the United States and South Korea at any time necessary.

"All these war maneuvers are nothing but outright provocations aimed to stifle the Democratic People's Republic of Korea [North Korea] by force of arms," the state-run Korean Central News Agency cited the National Defense Commission as saying.'
