Police Acquitted Over G20 Riots Death


A British riot police officer has been acquitted of any wrongdoing regarding the death of a newspaper vendor during last year's G20 protests.

The policeman had been filmed pushing Ian Tomlinson to the ground during the G20 riots after he was hit by a baton and shoved to the ground.

Tomlinson was seen in mobile phone footage moving away after the incident but collapsed 100 meters away in Cornhill.

Police claimed that he had died of a heart attack, a claim supported by an initial post mortem, but second and third post mortems concluded that Tomlinson died from abdominal hemorrhage.

After a 15-month inquiry, director of Public Prosecutions Keir Starmer said, "There is no realistic prospect of a conviction".'

  1. Right. This whole episode along with experiences I have had in this country just shows me that justice is dead in the UK.

    Perhaps the officer in question is a member of one of the many fraternal orders in the UK, that explains why he can get away with murder.

    Don't even get me started on the quack Doctor who did the initial post-mortem...Incompetence!

    I really am getting sick of the UK in general, of course America is totally worse. But, seriously what do you have to do to get justice these days?

    I mean as people can see the so called justice system here is TOTALLY corrupt.

    UK is like the so called third world, police murdering innocent people in cold blood with no justice, power cuts and so on...

    This place just continues to go downhill...Corruption!
