Republican vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin welcomes NATO membership for Georgia and Ukraine even if it raises the risk of a war. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin in her first media interview since accepting her party's nomination with ABC News' on Thursday called Georgia and Ukraine to join NATO no matter if it would lead to military confrontation between the US and Russia. John McCain's running mate called for Georgia and the Ukraine to be included in NATO, a treaty that requires the United States to defend them militarily. Asked to clarify that she'd support going to war over Georgia, she said: "Perhaps so." "I mean, that is the agreement when you are a NATO ally, is if another country is attacked, you're going to be expected to be called upon and help," she said.
