Barclaycard Unveils Plans For Paying Using Your Mobile Phone, Key Fob Or Fingerprints

'They were introduced at a time when The Beatles were top of the charts and England won the World Cup.
But four decades on and the days of putting everything on plastic could be numbered as experts predict the credit card will soon be replaced by payments made through the mobile phone or key fob.
Like the cheque book, the video cassette and CD, plastic credit cards could be consigned to history in as little as five years, according to leading financiers.
The UK's first credit card company, Barclaycard announced yesterday it was pouring millions into new "contactless payment technology" enabling customers to use even their eyes or fingerprints to pay for goods in the future.'

I just love the way they do the totalitarian tiptoe.

First bring in something as a really crap idea but something that gets you a couple of notches down the road. Credit card to mobile phone. Then mobile phone theft skyrockets but by that time they have sold the sheeple that it is only safe when its your body that is the credit card! Databases for fingerprints, DNA, iris scans and then Finally the microchip!

Baaaaa Yes keep us saaaaafe from the naaaaaasty men !
