Surge in Kids’ CT Scans Raises Concerns
Soaring numbers of kids are getting CT scans in emergency rooms, a study has found, raising concerns that some of them might be exposed to adult-sized radiation doses and an increased risk of developing cancer.
The number of ER visits nationwide in which children were given CT scans surged from about 330,000 in 1995 to 1.65 million in 2008 — a five-fold increase. The number of kids’ ER visits didn’t increase measurably during the study, but the percentage of visits involving CT scans went from about 1 percent to almost 6 percent, according to the study, reported Tuesday in the journal Radiology.'

Federal Government Seeking to Make Forms of Bartering Illegal After Court Ruling
The Federal government is trying to establish bartering private currency of any type as an illegal enterprise in a false interpretation of the court's recent conviction of Liberty Dollar's owner Bernard Von NotHaus.
In a case where the government used conspiracy and counterfeit charges against NotHaus to establish that he intended to mint and illegally replace US currency with a private one using silver coins, the US Attorney is now parlaying the conviction to say that this ruling sets a precedent against any private barter transactions which use any form of currency besides established Federal Reserve Notes.'

2,000 Protesters March On Koch Industries’ D.C. Office
Though they don’t want you to know about it, the billionaire Koch brothers are bankrolling a massive campaign to roll back progressive achievements, and today, labor, civil rights, and climate activists turned out at dozens of rallies across the country to demonstrate against the Koch’s secretive influence in American politics and to stand up for labor and civil rights.
In Washington, D.C. today an estimated 2,000 protesters marched on Koch Industries’ Washington D.C. offices and attempted to give Charles and David Koch an invitation to come out and speak with the protesters. Not surprisingly, the building’s doors were locked and no one was allowed inside. North Carolina SB 31 Bill Seeks to Turn Healers into Felons; but the Health Freedom Backlash Has Already Begun
As virtually the entire North Carolina legislature now knows, NaturalNews readers have been loudly condemning the lawmakers there over the recent "stealth bill" SB 31 which introduced new language that would transform homeopaths, naturopaths, herbalists and midwives into criminal felons.
It all hinges, you see, on the definition of "practicing medicine" without a license. SB 31 reads:
Any person who practices medicine or surgery without being duly licensed and registered... shall be guilty of a Class I felony.
The pushers of this onerous bill have contacted NaturalNews with the claim that this is only meant to "harmonize" the penalties for in-state violators versus out-of-state violators of North Carolina law. But what they utterly fail to admit is the simple truth that makes this law a shining example of the medical police state hard at work.'
