Royal Bank of Scotland Rejects Protests Over £1 Billion Bonus Payout

Royal Bank of Scotland will ignore protests and award up to £1 billion in bonuses to its staff next month. The bank will pay out a combined total of between £950 million and £1 billion.

However, several RBS institutional investors believe that the bank should not be paying anyone a bonus while it is still loss making. Last year the lender made a pre-tax loss of £2.6 billion.'

US May Try Sheehan For Anti-War Campaign

US authorities have arrested a number of anti-war protesters, including high-profile activist Cindy Sheehan, during a demonstration in Washington DC.

Eight peace activists were detained after laying coffins near a fence outside the White House during a Saturday rally in which thousands of anti-war protesters gathered at a park in the area to mark the seventh anniversary of the US-led invasion of Iraq .

They were demanding the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq and Afghanistan.'

Canada Introduces Law To Imprison or Fine Anti Olympic Protestors

Powers that would allow B.C. municipalities directly involved in the Olympics to "swiftly" seize illegal signs and levy penalties of up to $10,000 or hand out up to six months jail time for violators are too broad, says a civil liberties group.

The province introduced legislation this week that would give municipal officers the ability to enter private residences and remove or cover what's deemed to be illegal signage after giving only 24 hours notice.

Owing to vague wording in Vancouver's city bylaw, the group fears the stiff penalties - yet to be adopted - will be used during the 2010 Games to stifle anti-Olympic sentiment.

PROTEST MANDATORY VACCINATION!!

Saturday, 3rd October 2009 at 12 Noon - Houses of Parliament, Parliament Square Garden, Westminster, London, till about 2pm

Here are the details of our protest against mandatory vaccination (for more details on this issue see further down this page):

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) have taken over the control of the UK vaccination schedule and now have the power to bring in new vaccines without government approval even if they haven't been safety tested. Prior to this, all new vaccines would have to pass through parliament and be voted on before they were introduced. Now the government is compelled to agree with anything JCVI say, even if there is no science to back it up.

JCVI are also exploring whether to get a 'guardian of the state' for all unvaccinated children and sue their parents to FORCE them to vaccinate - this means that vegetarians will be forced to take animal products via vaccines, people will be forced to be injected with cancer-causing chemicals and those people who have already had vaccine reactions and disabilities will have their lives put at risk.

They write in their meeting minutes:

'What exactly ‘right’ meant [under the new NHS constitution] with respect to the right of a child to receive a vaccine when their parents were opposed to vaccination and

* How the constitution affected the recommendations of the JCVI with respect to legal challenge.’“ See the meeting minutes here:

http://www.dh.gov.uk/prod_consum_dh/groups/dh_digitalassets/@dh/@ab/documents/digitalasset/dh_097411.pdf

Those on the committee are also on the boards of the drug companies who make vaccines and so are profiting from their recommendations.

To safeguard our right to choose the healthcare for ourselves and our children, Vaccination Awareness Network, the advocacy group for parents who don't vaccinate, will be protesting against mandatory vaccination and conflict of interest.

If you are a parent who doesn't vaccinate, if you would like to choose which vaccines you have, if you or a loved one are vaccine injured, please come along and show your support outside the Houses of Parliament, Westminster at 12 noon on Saturday 3rd October 2009.

What you will need:

A banner or poster

Some change for Veggies food

Waterproof coats in case it rains - there is NO undercover shelter

Some people are wearing T shirts with anti swine flu vaccine or other health freedom slogans on them, myself included

Some people have suggested coming dressed as rabbits because the vaccine has not undergone clinical trials (we are the trial) - so fancy dress is permitted and might even be nice for the little ones

Please NO loudspeakers, sound surround systems or big TV's and DO NOT attach anything to the garden unless it can be removed afterwards.

NO alcohol, NO VIOLENCE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES - remember, there are babies, toddlers, pregnant mothers and disabled people who will be present.

There is no parking on site but there is a car park nearby called Abingdon car park where you can park your car and we will have a steward or two to help you find your way.

We will also have a trained first aider on site in case of a medical need.

Babies and children are welcome.

Please contact Jo on 0870 444 0894 if you require more information.

Protesters Gird for Long Fight Over Opening Peru’s Amazon

Faced with a simmering crisis over dozens of deaths in the quelling of indigenous protests last week, Peru’s Congress this week suspended the decrees that had set off the protests over plans to open large parts of the Peruvian Amazon to investment. Senior officials said they hoped this would calm nerves and ease the way for oil drillers and loggers to pursue their projects.

But instead, indigenous groups are digging in for a protracted fight, revealing an increasingly well-organized movement that could be a tinderbox for President Alan GarcĂa. The movement appears to be fueled by a deep popular resistance to the government’s policies, which focused on luring foreign investment, while parts of the Peruvian Amazon have been left behind.

Military Readies Reservists for Threats to 'Domestic Front'

Reserve units across Canada are being trained in securing perimeters in case of an emergency. The Canadian military has embarked on a wide-ranging plan to turn its reserve soldiers into focused units trained and equipped to respond to a nightmarish array of domestic threats, including terrorist "dirty bomb" attacks, biological agent containment, Arctic catastrophes and natural disasters.
The creation of seven units within each region of the country -- including unusual all-terrain vehicle (ATV) squadrons and perimeter security teams to cordon areas of potential devastation -- prepares reserve soldiers for operations on the "domestic front" while freeing regular force soldiers to concentrate on foreign battlefields.
"There is a recognition, certainly within the military and we have heard the government say, that domestic security is the number one priority.

TV Licence Fee Cash Guarantees House Prices of Relocated BBC Staff

The prices of hundreds of homes owned by BBC employees in London will be guaranteed by licence-fee payers under a relocation package aimed at enticing staff to Salford.
Employees will also receive £5,000 in relocation expenses, up to £3,000 to pay for new carpets and curtains and will keep thousands of pounds in London weighting allowances, it emerged yesterday. The decision to use the licence fee to underwrite property values in a falling housing market has been condemned as unacceptable.

Labour Planning Secret Tax on 'Nice Houses'

Tax inspectors have divided England into 10,000 new "localities" with each neighbourhood ranked on the socio-economic class of its residents and environmental factors such as crime and traffic levels.

The inspectors have even purchased demographic data disclosing how many company executives, pensioners or students live in particular streets, The Daily Telegraph has learned.

This has been collated on a secret database which is being used to assess the desirability of neighbourhoods to help determine council tax bills if Labour wins power again at the next election.

Bailiffs Get Power to Use Force on Debtors

The government has been accused of trampling on individual liberties by proposing wide-ranging new powers for bailiffs to break into homes and to use “reasonable force” against householders who try to protect their valuables.

Under the regulations, bailiffs for private firms would for the first time be given permission to restrain or pin down householders. They would also be able to force their way into homes to seize property to pay off debts, such as unpaid credit card bills and loans.

The government, which wants to crack down on people who evade debts, says the new powers would be overseen by a robust industry watchdog. However, the laws are being criticised as the latest erosion of the rights of the householder in his own home.

“These laws strip away tried and tested protections that make a person’s home his castle, and which have stood for centuries,” said Paul Nicolson, chairman of the Zacchaeus 2000 Trust, a London-based welfare charity. “They could clearly lead to violent confrontations and undermine fundamental liberties.”

Your Complaint Will Be Resolved – By Force-feeding You Drugs

AUTHORITIES in eastern China have a new way to deal with residents who complain: checking them into a mental hospital and force-feeding them drugs, it was reported yesterday.

Authorities in Xintai, a municipal region in Shandong province, had forced at least 18 people with grievances, ranging from police brutality to property disputes, into a mental hospital, the Beijing News said.

Sun Fawu, 57, a retired miner from Dagouqiao village, was force-fed drugs and given injections during more than 20 days at the Xintai mental hospital in October, the paper said. "My head was always dizzy and I could not stay up," Mr Sun said. He had asked for compensation over spoiled farmland caused by coal mining. He was released only after signing a document saying he was mentally ill and "would not petition again".

Court Ruling Brings Down Thai Government

A court dissolved Thailand's top three ruling parties for electoral fraud Tuesday and temporarily banned the prime minister from politics, bringing down a government that has faced months of strident protests seeking its ouster.

The Constitutional Court ruling set the stage for thousands of protesters to end their weeklong siege of the country's two main airports, but also raised fears of retaliatory violence by a pro-government group that could sink the country deeper into crisis and cripple its economy.
Members of the People's Alliance for Democracy, occupying Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi international airport, cheered and hugged after they heard news of the verdict.

Icelanders Storm Central Bank

Thousands of Icelanders marked the 90th anniversary of their nation's sovereignty with angry protest Monday, and several hundred stormed the central bank to demand the ouster of bankers they blame for the country's spectacular economic meltdown.

After the rally, hundreds of protesters stormed the headquarters of Sedlabanki, Iceland's central bank, demanding the sacking of its chief, David Oddsson.

The demonstrators staged an hour-long standoff with shield-wielding riot police inside the bank's lobby, singing songs and chanting "Out with David" and "Power to the People." The protest ended peacefully when both police and demonstrators agreed to withdraw.

Obama's S.2433 Would Put United States Under UN Mandate

According to David Bossie, President of the group 'Citizens United for American Sovereignty', based out of Merrifield Virginia, website: http://www.citizensunited.org/
The above- mentioned Senate Bill (S. 2433) is a piece of legislation in the works that all Americans need to know about and know now!

This bill, sponsored by none other than Sen. Barack Obama, with the backing of Joe Biden on the Foreign Relations Committee, and liberal democrats in Congress, is nothing short of a massive giveaway of American wealth around the world, and a betrayal of the public trust, because, if passed, this bill would give over many aspects of our sovereignty to the United Nations.

Mr Wongsawat's elected government is struggling for survival amid mounting rumours of a military coup.
The city's second airport, Don Muang, which carries mostly domestic traffic, was closed on Thursday morning after being overrun by anti-government protesters, severing the last air-link between the city of 8 million people and the outside world.
Suvarnabhumi international airport, a major regional hub, has been closed since explosions occurred and protesters overran the control tower on Tuesday.
