Incoming British Foreign Minister Won’t Rule Out Attacking Iran

In an interview aimed at cementing his reputation as a “friend of Israel,” incoming British Foreign Secretary William Hague vowed to see British law changed so as to hold Israeli officials immune from war crimes charges, and promised to take a tough line against Iran’s civilian nuclear program, calling it the “most urgent thing” for him to tackle.

In fact, Hague seems to be taking a considerably more hawkish position on Iran than the Labour government had, and says that it would be a mistake to ever rule out military action against Iran, though his first preference seemed to be for “tough sanctions” against the nation.'

London Mayor Wants Compulsory National Service

It was supposed to be a photo opportunity to help David Cameron on the campaign trail – but the decision to invite the mayor of London, Boris Johnson, appeared to backfire when he urged the Tory leader to beef up his national citizen service proposals.

During a visit to south-west London with Cameron today, Johnson decided to offer advice on the policy, announced yesterday with the backing of Sir Michael Caine.

The two were drinking tea with Chelsea Pensioners as Cameron explained his proposals for every 16-year-old to have the opportunity to do citizen service when Johnson intervened, saying: "I think it should be compulsory. Why don't you make it compulsory?"

Cameron – who did not respond directly to the mayor's suggestion – suggested teenagers participating in the scheme could do some service with the armed forces.

"It might have a military side. The military are keen to get involved," he added.'

When they come up with some new crackpot law are you asked if you would like to comply or are you forced to comply by the lawmaker’s private political army called the ‘police’? It is a very simple question that only has one answer!! When they come up with some new tax or regulation again are you asked or told - are you ever asked if you would like these new laws, taxes and regulations or again are you told? And after knowing these facts as everybody does, as it is obvious, I am still amazed at how many people are still hood winked by this sham and actually believe they have a voice through voting. How can you have a voice in something that is completely orchestrated before it even begins? They even make you think you are a ‘citizen’ by calling you this and giving you agencies such as the citizen advice bureau, but when you cut to the chase you are nothing more than a slave to them as the above points prove. A citizen is a member of a political community and that is why they need you to believe you are a citizen, to maintain you believe in politics, to maintain things stay as they are. Slaves did not nor will ever have citizenship within a political community unless; you are of standing, position or status and work in a certain position within the ‘state’. Again citizens are asked, slaves are told, are you asked or told?

New Tax Bombshell: 20% VAT

A rise in VAT is looming whichever party wins the general election, as Labour and the Conservatives draw up plans to balance Britain’s books.

Alistair Darling and George Osborne, the Shadow Chancellor, are both considering raising VAT to as high as 20 per cent — the European average — from the current rate of 17.5 per cent, The Times has learnt.

Doing so would raise an extra £13 billion a year at a time when financial markets are searching for signs that whoever takes power is serious about tackling Britain’s £178 billion deficit.'

Tories Study Plans for 20pc VAT

The proposal – likely to raise up to £10 billion a year – is being “very actively considered” at the highest level, according to senior shadow ministerial sources.

It could be introduced within weeks of a Tory victory at the next election, which must be held by June, in a package that is also likely to include severe cuts to public spending.

A shadow ministerial source said: “Tax rises will have to be part of the equation. It will be time for some strong medicine.”

Conservative MPs Rush to Quit Second Jobs

MEMBERS of David Cameron’s frontbench team are rushing to give up lucrative second jobs before a July 1 deadline, when they will have to declare the millions of pounds they earn from “moonlighting”.

Six senior Tories told The Sunday Times they had either quit or were planning to quit consultancies and directorships. Grant Shapps, the shadow housing minister, David Gauke, the Treasury spokesman, and David Evennett, the junior universities spokesman, are likely to meet the July 1 deadline and thus avoid the need to declare their earnings from second jobs Francis Maude, shadow Cabinet Office minister, David Willetts, the universities spokesman, and Gregory Barker, shadow environment minister, also indicated they would give up their second jobs. But they will not achieve this by July 1 and will have to make at least one set of declarations of their earnings and specify the number of hours they spend on second jobs.

The Sunday Times has found that members of Cameron’s team earned at least £2.7m on top of their annual MPs’ salaries of £64,766 and expenses.

Tory Claims £57,000 to Rent Flat From Own Company

Brian Binley claimed £1,500 a month to rent the flat for more than three years, despite House of Commons rules forbidding MPs from renting properties from themselves or their companies.

The Daily Telegraph can disclose that Mr Binley’s rental claims were first flagged up by parliamentary officials in April 2006, but the payments were not stopped until April of this year.

Tory MP Sir John Butterfill Paid no Tax on £600,000 House Profit

For five years, Sir John submitted regular claims under the second home allowance for the cost of running his six-bedroom country house, which had a swimming pool and extensive grounds. He claimed £17,000 on servants’ quarters alone.

At the time, he designated a small flat in his Bournemouth constituency, bought for £56,000, as his “main home”.

When he sold the country property for £1.2 million in 2005, however, he informed HM Revenue & Customs that it was his “primary residence”, meaning he was exempt from capital gains tax.

He described calls for a boycott of Israel in the UK as "damaging" and "worrying" and warned that criticising Israel can sometimes lead to anti-semitism.

Cameron said: "It's disturbing that a boycott is happening here, there is no justification for treating Israel as a pariah state, it may be by a bunch of loons deciding on it but the motion is profoundly worrying and damaging.

According to a draft European Commission regulation, seen by The Daily Telegraph, the new millimetre wave imaging scanners are to be used “individually or in combination, as a primary or secondary means and under defined conditions” to provide a “virtual strip search” of travellers.
Why? We neither need nor want these things. Oh, but of course! They’ll be a deterrent in the War on Terror (key words: War; Terror).

The new EU regulation, which will be binding on Britain, is intended to enter into force across the continent by the end of April 2010.

Binding on Britain, but not a decision of the British government (ah, but it IS, you see!). Nor was it put to the British people. Clever eh? Like democracy in a totalitarian sort of way. That’s the EU: a totalitarian state in its final stages of creation.
