Thousands Call for Civilian Rule in Egypt

Tens of thousands of Egyptian protesters have once again taken to the streets, demanding the transfer of power from military to a civilian government. Thousands of protesters and activists gathered in Cairo's Liberation Square and several other cities following the Friday Prayers, a Press TV correspondent reported.

The Egyptian protesters, who toppled the regime of former President Hosni Mubarak several weeks ago, have called for the resignation of all officials loyal to the Mubarak regime.

They also demand a speedy trial of Mubarak himself, as well an investigation into the conduct of officials responsible for the violence used against civilians during weeks of popular protests.

Demonstrators say they will continue their protests until all their demands are met.
