US Border Troops Not There to Stem Influx of Illegal Immigrants

The US State Department says National Guard troops being sent to the Mexican border will not be used to enforce US immigration laws.

On Tuesday, US President Barack Obama authorized the deployment of up to 1,200 additional troops to border areas to fight the drug cartels, but State Department spokesman Philip Crowley told reporters, "It's not about immigration."

Crowley also said that the troops will stem the flow of guns and drugs across the borders.'

The Mexican government will bar foreigners if they upset "the equilibrium of the national demographics." If outsiders do not enhance the country's "economic or national interests" or are "not found to be physically or mentally healthy," they are not welcome. Neither are those who show "contempt against national Mexican sovereignty or security." They must not be economic burdens on society and must have clean criminal histories.

17 States Now Filing Versions of Arizona's Immigration Bill SB 1070

One of America's national organizations fighting against illegal immigration is announcing that 17 states are now filing versions of Arizona's SB 1070 law which is designed to help local police enforce America's existing immigration laws.

Numerous national and local polls indicated that 60-81% of Americans support local police enforcing immigration laws.

"Our national network of activists have been working overtime trying to help the state of Arizona and the brave Arizonans who have passed this bill," said William Gheen, President of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC. Illegal Immigrants 'Would Cost £1 Million Each if Granted Amnesty'

The extra burden on the public purse is the "hidden cost" of unlawful migrants settling and starting families such as the potential drain on the benefits system, according to research by Migrationwatch.

Bungling Officials Wrongly Issue 300,000 Visas to 'Illegals' Every Year, MPs Told

Almost 300,000 foreigners a year are allowed into Britain with wrongly approved visas.
Up to 15 per cent of short term visas issued by British embassies abroad are given in error, MPs were told.
Once here, migrants with dubious credentials are free to stay on illegally.

The visas are granted because it is easier for staff trying to hit processing targets to approve an application than reject one, explained Linda Costelloe Baker, who monitors Government visa refusals.
She told the Commons Home Affairs Committee there were errors in about 15 per cent of short-term visa approvals.
Officials were 'under pressure' to issue visas rather than reject the applications because of productivity targets, she said.

Britain Paying to Deport Immigrants Who Have Never Reached Britain

A flight aimed at deporting England-bound illegal migrants from Calais is set to leave London on Tuesday.

The first of many, it will stop off in the northern French city of Lille to pick up its human cargo, before making for the war-torn central Asian state.

Armed security guards will be on the plane, which is likely to be supplied by a British company after French ones refused to back the venture.

It will cost some £200,000 in all, with the figure set to multiply to multi-million pound figures as more flights are organised.

The decision to saddle the British taxpayer will a massive bill for the removal of illegal migrants before they have even set foot in the UK last night met with severe criticism.

Mark Wallace, campaign director of the Taxpayers' Alliance, said: "It is ridiculous that the Government is being so free and easy with British taxpayers' money.
