The French president Nicolas Sarkozy is to prioritise the regulation of the internet at this week’s G8 summit, hosting a two-day technology forum prior to the main event.
The e-G8 event begins today and will bring together the likes of Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s founder and chief executive, Eric Schmidt, Google’s executive chairman, and Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s chief executive.
Sarkozy is expected to lead conversations around governance of the web, specifically focusing on increased regulation around copyright and privacy.
