As Predicted, FBI Agent Discovered at Center of Alleged Hutaree Conspiracy

On Monday we asked you to count the hours before links to the feds emerged on this one – turns out it was 48.

The FBI had an informant inside the Hutaree group and he participated in the alleged conspiracy to kill law enforcement officers, according to The Wall Street Journal today.

In sworn testimony, Thomas William Piatek is described as a Cooperating Witness and an undercover FBI agent.

Thomas William Piatek is pictured at the bottom right. It is interesting to note that, unlike the other suspects, he appears not to be wearing a jail uniform.

“A spokesperson at the FBI’s Detroit office declined to comment on the undercover agent and any role such an agent may have had in the investigation. A spokesman at the Justice Department in Washington also declined to discuss specifics of the investigation,” the Journal reports.

It is not surprising that the FBI had penetrated the Hutaree group and an agent was apparently at the center of the alleged conspiracy. In fact, it is part of a well established pattern.'

CNN Smears Completely Unconnected Group As Tea Party Terrorists

During a report on the indictment against members of the Hutaree organization raided by federal authorities this past weekend, CNN displayed images from the Michigan Militia website, a completely unconnected group, and implied that they shared the cop-killing agenda of the Hutaree, in a clear attempt to smear the national Tea Party movement as a terrorist fringe.

Betraying their callous appetite for grist with which to silence their political opposition, establishment media talking heads and self-proclaimed progressives and liberals have zealously pounced upon the Hutaree raid to advance their anti-free speech agenda and smear opponents of Obamacare or big government as extremists and even terrorists who want to kill cops.'

Large FBI, Homeland Security Operation Targets Militias in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio

Fox News reports this afternoon that seven people have been arrested for allegedly selling pipe bombs in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana in connection with the federal raids. “The arrests and raids in Michigan and Indianapolis are related to alleged militia activity in the region, but are not related to international terrorism. There is not a current threat to the public, according to a law enforcement source.” Fox does not mention FBI activity in Ohio, covered below.

An Ann Arbor, Michigan, website reports this afternoon that the people arrested in Michigan are from from a group named Hutaree, described as “a Christian-oriented militia group based in Lenawee County".'

Patriot Elder: 'Militias Will Not Be Allowed'

For 60 some years now, I have been hearing - and was often in the thick of - "getting everybody organized." It ain't gonna happen.

In the 1960s, there were thousands more people directly involved in getting everyone educated and organized. We consistently lost practically every battle we engaged in. We played by the rules because we weren't criminals; the other side has no rules except winning power.

There was an active, growing, organized and dedicated militia centered in California but known and influential nationwide until its leader, Robert DePugh was framed and jailed for bank robbery. The militia was called the Minutemen. It was a real group organized in cells.

When DePugh was released early, he started up another organization to "educate everyone" but it soon became clear he was only released because he agreed to separate patriots from their money and list them for the feds. He disappeared after a few years of begging funding.

Militias, real militias, simply will not be allowed. Small very secret cells, Communist style, would work a hell of a lot better. Anyone who thinks he can easily spot any infiltrator needs an education on the real facts of life.'
