A drug trafficking campaign is being conducted against Russia on a broad scale affecting all spheres of its political, social and economic life. Kyrgyzstan plays an important role in this campaign. There are ten main routes of heroin traffic from Afghanistan (occupied by the US forces) with six of them crossing the Kyrgyz city of Osh, an important hub of Afghan drug traffic.'

Kyrgyzstan: Another Soros 'Color' Revolution

In April of 2005, Der Spiegel featured a report with the title "Revolutions Speed Russia's Disintegration."In part it revealed the prime movers behind the events in Kyrgyzstan:

"As early as February," Roza Otunbayeva - now the apparent head of the provisional government - "pledged allegiance to a small group of partners and sponsors of the Kyrgyz revolution, to 'our American friends' at Freedom House (who donated a printing press in Bishkek to the opposition), and to George Soros, a speculator who previously helped unseat Edward Shevardnadze's government in Georgia.'

Kyrgyzstan Moves to Shut US-Run Menas Air Base

Kyrgyzstan's new leaders have said they intend to remove a US military base, which currently serves as the premier air mobility hub for the US-led forces in Afghanistan, from their soil.

The interim government led by ex-foreign minister Roza Otunbayeva, has said it wants the US base, Manas, closed down for security reasons.

The remarks came amid growing uncertainty over whether the new Kyrgyz authorities would allow the US to use the base.'

Kyrgyz Opposition Seizes Presidential Building

Protestors have seized the presidential administration building in the capital city of Bishkek and installed their own "people's government," a key opposition leader says.

"Opposition leaders are already in the government palace where a new people's government has been formed," said lawmaker Temir Sariyev.

Sariyev added that Roza Otunbayeva, the former foreign minister has been appointed as the head of the new government.'

Kyrgyzstan Threatens to Shut Key US Airbase

President Kurmanbek Bakiyev is said to be preparing to announce the closure of Manas airbase, which acts as the main air hub for military supplies and troops travelling into Afghanistan.

Coalition forces have already been forced to seek alternative supply lines into Afghanistan after the main Khyber Pass road from Pakistan has seen repeated closures after attacks from Taliban militants.

A Russian newspaper reported that Manas would be closed in return for £1.3 billion of Russian investment.

The US State Department said it was not aware of any plans to close the base, but sources close to the Kyrgyz president said he will announce the closure before visiting Moscow later this month.
