Hundreds of Facebook users have joined a page, rallying support for mass protests to demand the ouster of Qatar's Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani.
The page, named “Freedom Revolution March 16 Qatar,” has set the date for popular revolt across the country, Reuters reported on Thursday.
Depicting a defaced photo of the ruler, it has so far been “liked” by 1,646 people.
It advocates the removal of a huge US military base from the Persian Gulf emirate and the exclusion of the emir's wife Sheikha Mouza from public affairs.'
