It is also used to blind ground radar to the actual location of an aircraft's position.
IT IS NOT a weather control device. I was in the NAVY and I Worked on the EA-6B Prowler as an ECM (Electronic CounterMeasures) tech so I know what I am talking about.
Must have been a lot of training and they must have been firing a lot of it to make such large radar echos.
Why in the first place did he need them to confirm this to him as an explanation in his weather report which they didn't do so, then he basically took it upon himself without their confirmation to convey to the veiwer that he can tell you right now that, that, is what it is because he was in the marine corps, whom 'they' neither confirmed also, and you veiwer don't know me from a bar of soap... but trust me l'm a celebrity weather man on a TV show.
