How ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteThere was a case, las year, of a young boy of 9 years who was stopped and searched by Policemen in Camberwell, South London. There was no adult present at the time. He had been sitting with his older brother and some friends when the Police turned up in a van.
Now, in the case of the young lads you mentioned in your story, if the schools were kept open during the snow period, and were not closed to pupils as usual, then these boys would not have been sledging down hill out of boredom.
Over 15 years ago when I was at Secondary scool, I also remember the school was closed for almost a week due to heavy snow and poor heating. It appears that things haven't changed much in the UK.
