Senators Press Obama to Toe Israel's Line

As President Barack Obama is said to be asking Israel to accept some kind of Palestinian state, US senators are urging him not to deviate from Tel Aviv in any negotiations.

In a letter to Obama, 76 of the 100 senators said that the US "must take into account the risks it will face in any peace agreement."

The letter came a day after Obama met with the Israeli prime minister in Washington where Benjamin Netanyahu tried to divert the US focus on the stalled Middle East 'peace process' and shift it to the issue of Iran.

Netanyahu dismissed the US president's 'concerns' over Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Abe Foxman's 'Anti-Semitic Pandemic'

If there were a Nobel Prize for Hypocrisy, Abraham Foxman would have been a great candidate. The director of the Anti-Defamation League, who once interpreted even International Holocaust Remembrance Day as an expression of the Gentiles' latent desire to see Jews dead, has published a new survey on anti-Semitism in Europe [.pdf].

One of the assertions respondents were asked to agree or disagree with was "Jews are more loyal to Israel than to this country"; an affirmative response was considered indicative of anti-Semitism.

Holocaust Fundamentalism and the War on Dissent

An international court battle involving government-imposed restrictions on political expression has ensnared two right-leaning British intellectuals.

Writers Simon Sheppard and Stephen Whittle stand convicted of violating modern British laws against "stirring up racial and religious hatred" for publishing, among other things, an allegedly anti-Semitic comic book called "Tales of the Holohoax" as well as a nativist-British pamphlet called "Don't Be Sheeple".
