The second the faked videos were available, cheap edits and voice overs first, Sky News and Fox, both owned by Israeli Likudist Rupert Murdoch, began the disinformation campaign. The “Freedom Flotilla” of peace activists suddenly became an armed Al Qaeda invasion force replete with heavy artillery, dirty bombs and terrorist trainers.

Patched in over the wounded calling for aid was the Israeli soundtrack, “Go Back to Auschwitz.” This was played dozens of times before technicians showed it and other Israeli released video and audio from the attack to be counterfeit. With hours of video smuggled out, those tiny memory cards fit in the oddest places, Israel, Fox, Beck and the parade of media who ate up the lies are now delegitimized as are the groups that stood with them in silence.

It isn’t just the dubbed audio or the new video showing IDF troops executing wounded. With so many witnesses of unquestionable integrity all saying the same thing, Israel and the media married to them are on the ropes. The belief that any story contrary to the political or economic ties of the corporate owners could easily be tagged as “conspiracy theory” has backfired.'

US Media And Israel Military, All In The Family

Recent exposés revealing that Ethan Bronner, the New York Times Israel-Palestine bureau chief, has a son in the Israeli military have caused a storm of controversy that continues to swirl and generate further revelations.

Many people find such a sign of family partisanship in an editor covering a foreign conflict troubling especially given the Times’ record of Israel-centric journalism. Times management at first refused to confirm Bronner’s situation, then refused to comment on it. Finally, public outcry forced Times Public Editor Clark Hoyt to confront the problem in a February 7th column.

After bending over backwards to praise the institution that employs him, Hoyt ultimately opined that Bronner should be re-assigned to a different sphere of reporting to avoid the “appearance” of bias. Times Editor Bill Keller declined to do so, however, instead writing a column calling Bronner’s connections to Israel valuable because they “supply a measure of sophistication about Israel and its adversaries that someone with no connections would lack".'

BBC's News Coverage of Tiger Woods' Apology Sparks 'Dumbing Down' Backlash

The BBC has faced fresh accusations of dumbing down over its extensive coverage of Tiger Woods's apology last week.

Scores of viewers complained about the golfer being the top story on the day 1,600 workers lost their jobs as the North-East's last steel plant was shut down.

Last Friday also saw British Gas report a 50 per cent profit rise despite the economic downturn, while it emerged that another British soldier had been killed fighting the Taliban.

But rather than leading with these stories, the golfer's public apology for a string of extra-marital affairs was chosen as the headline story on BBC1's main evening bulletin.

The corporation received 283 formal complaints, while many more voiced their dissatisfaction on internet messageboards.
They accused the broadcaster of ' sensationalising' the news and dumbing down by chasing celebrity stories.
