Israeli Soldiers Finally Clash With the Real Enemy

Israel Defense Forces officers have lashed out at rioters who clashed with soldiers at the West Bank settlement of Yitzhar on Tuesday.

“These people are scum,” one senior officer told Haaretz after three soldiers were wounded by stones thrown near the hilltop settlement, known for its hard-line yeshiva, or Jewish seminary.

It was seminary students who had instigated the violence, the officer said.'

Israel Fury at UK Move to Label Settlement Produce

Britain was today embroiled in an international row after Israel accused the government of encouraging a boycott of foods from its settlements in the West Bank.

The Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has issued voluntary guidance to UK supermarkets stating labels should differentiate between "Israeli settlement produce" and "Palestinian produce". Foods are currently labelled "Produce of the West Bank".'

Israeli Settlers, Troops Break Into Ibrahimi Mosque

Around 150 Israeli settlers, backed by Israeli soldiers, break into the Ibrahimi Mosque in the Ishakiyya area in al-Khalil (Hebron), in the West Bank.

Al-Ja'bary warned that extremist settlers are trying to bar the Muslims from entering the Ibrahimi Mosque and are trying to transform it into a synagogue.

Israeli Soldiers Watch Settlers Grab Nablus Land

Settlers have grabbed acres of Palestinian land south of the West Bank city of Nablus while Israeli soldiers stand and watch the incident as inactive onlookers.

The Palestinian Authority official monitoring settler activity in the northern West Bank said dozens of settlers overran the land near a military checkpoint on the outskirts of Hawara village on Friday.

They unloaded metal and barbed wire from trucks and fenced off the 40,000-square-meter area, which lies between the villages of Kafr Qalil and Burin, Ghassan Dughlus reported.

He said soldiers stationed at the nearby Huwwara checkpoint did not intervene.

Israeli Settlers Burn More Palestinian Farms

Israel's illegal settlers in the West Bank have set fire to more than 120 hectares of Palestinian land, the Ministry of Agriculture says.

In a series of attacks since the spring, settlers have gone on the offensive, attacking Palestinian farmers particularly in villages surrounding the cities of Nablus and al-Khalil (Hebron), the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture said on Sunday.
