'US Troops Kill Five Iraqi Bystanders'

Iraqis witnessing the arrival of US infantrymen on their rooftop have lost their lives after their house came under a bloody attack by the American troops.

The Friday attack took place in al-Khanafsa area, south of Baghdad and near the holy city of Karbala, witnesses said, according to Reuters.

"The US troops came from here on foot patrol…," said one witness. "When they arrived, a man went to the roof of his house to look at them, they intentionally opened fire at him as they saw him and his wife who went upstairs to check what happened."

"They walked directly to the house after this," where they killed three other family members, the witness added.'

Soldier Arrested in WikiLeaks Classified Iraq Video Case

The US Army has arrested Specialist Bradley Manning, a soldier deployed in Iraq with the 10th Mountain Division, on charges that he allegedly released classified information. The military is looking at a possible connection between Spc. Manning and WikiLeaks, an online whistleblower organization which in April published a graphic video of an Apache gunship mistakenly shooting civilians, according to Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman.'

'Iran Haze Contains Depleted Uranium'

An Iranian lawmaker says the haze that arrives in Iran from Iraq is polluted with depleted uranium due to the US military's use of the prohibited weapon in the neighboring country.

MP Mohammad-Mehdi Shahriari called for urgent measures to prevent the diffusion of the Iraqi haze over Iran.

"This is not an issue that can be easily neglected," said Shahriari, who is a member of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee.

"Everyone knows that the United States has used depleted uranium during the occupation of Iraq, and this has contaminated the Iraqi soil, which arrives in Iran once in a while and pollutes Iranian soil," the Iranian MP told the Mehr news agency on Monday.'

Out of Iraq? Don't Hold Your Breath

President Obama will not get the United States out of Iraq in his first term. If he wins a second term, it is highly unlikely he will get us out of Iraq before he finally leaves office.

Print that out and tack it to your wall. Six years from now, it will still be hanging there, yellow and curled, but entirely correct. We're not going anywhere.

Yeah, yeah, I know, the word from the White House ever since Obama first began to campaign has been that we'll be out of Iraq by 2011. That was the promise, oft-repeated, and I'm here to tell you that it's a load of bull. Iraq is the 51st state, now and forever, so praise the Lord and pass the taxpayer-funded ammunition, amen.'

Who is Bombing in Iraq?

On 10 May there were more than two dozen bombings and shootings in Iraq that killed at least 85 people and injured at least 300.These were coordinated attacks, clearly by the same organization.

The American response to this and other recent attacks is to delay plans for withdrawal of troops from Iraq. Obama’s election promise was to withdraw troops from Iraq by May this year. Not only is that obviously not going to happen but we learned after his election that “withdrawal” meant leaving 50,000 troops as ‘trainers’ as well as 4,500 special forces and tens of thousands of para-military contractors.

Now, the US is reviewing even the slipped drawdown schedule out of concern for the security of the Iraqi people. Considering the million killed by the US and the four to five million refugees created by them I would not have thought that they would be bothered by fewer than one hundred dead in a little internal trouble. It might be said to be an improvement on US outcomes.

As these attacks are providing the US with an excuse for delaying even its token withdrawal however, we need to think about who is behind them.

Obama Scraps Iraq Withdrawal

So, we elected a president who promised a withdrawal from Iraq that he, or the generals who tell him what to do, is now further delaying. And, of course, the timetable he's now delaying was already a far cry from what he had promised as a candidate.

What are we to think? That may be sad news, but what could we have done differently? Surely it would have been worse to elect a president who did not promise to withdraw, right?'

Parents of Children With Birth Defects say Britain Knew of US Chemical Weapons Use

Allegations that Britain was complicit in the use of chemical weapons linked to an upsurge in child deformity cases in Iraq, are being investigated by the Ministry of Defence.

Lawyers for the Iraqis have sent a letter before action to the MoD asking the Government to disclose what it knows about the Army's role in the offensive, the presence of prohibited weapons and the legal advice given to Tony Blair, Prime Minister at the time.

Legal actions against America are blocked by US federal immunity laws and the US government's boycott of the International Criminal Court.'

The MoD, the Arms Deal and a 30-year-old Bill for £400m

The problem came in 1979 when, with just 185 tanks delivered to Tehran, the Iranian Revolution deposed Shah Pahlavi and installed an Islamic Republic with a somewhat less warm stance towards the United Kingdom. The massive deal, fully sanctioned by the Ministry of Defence, foundered and the Iranians, perhaps understandably, asked for their money back.

London refused and - after flogging a number of its suddenly surplus tanks to Iran’s most bitter enemy in the shape of Saddam Hussein’s Iraq - the British government has for 30 years fought a little-noticed but bitter legal wrangle in an obscure international trade court based in the Netherlands to hold onto what remains of the Shah’s money.'

Al-Qaeda Chief In Iraq: Captured, Killed, Never Actually Existed, Re-Captured, Now Killed Again

U.S. and Iraqi officials have today announced that two “Al-Qaeda in Iraq” leaders have been killed in an air strike carried out by American troops. A major flaw in the story that seems to have been overlooked, is that both of the men have already been reported captured and killed on several occasions, with U.S. officials also having previously declared one of them a “fictional character” that was invented by the other!'

Iraq War Vet: 'We Were Told To Just Shoot People, And The Officers Would Take Care of Us'

I remember one woman walking by," said Jason Washburn, a corporal in the US Marines who served three tours in Iraq. He told the audience at the Winter Soldier hearings that took place March 13-16, 2008, in Silver Spring, Maryland, "She was carrying a huge bag, and she looked like she was heading toward us, so we lit her up with the Mark 19, which is an automatic grenade launcher, and when the dust settled, we realized that the bag was full of groceries. She had been trying to bring us food and we blew her to pieces.'

Destroying Educational Institutions or Using them for Military Purposes is a War Crime

The Education system in Iraq, prior to 1991, was one of the best in the region; with over 100% Gross Enrolment Rate for primary schooling and high levels of literacy, both of men and women. The Higher Education, especially the scientific and technological institutions, were of an international standard, staffed by high quality personnel". (UNESCO Fact Sheet, March 28, 2003).

As a result of U.S. ongoing Occupation of Iraq, today Iraq is more illiterate than it was five or  twenty-five years ago, because the U.S. Administration and U.S. forces occupying Iraq began to root and destroy every aspect of Iraq’s education.'

Depleted Uranium: A War Crime Within a War Crime

As if destroying a country and its culture ain’t bad enough, how about destroying its future, its children? I want to scream it from the rooftops! We are complicit in crimes of such enormity that I find it difficult to find the words to describe how I feel about this crime committed in my name! In the name of the 'civilized’ world?'

Media Camouflage: Seventh Anniversary of the War On Iraq

American media loves anniversaries of major events. They become ideal “news pegs” to do follow-up stories. You would think that they would have pulled out the stops for the seventh anniversary of the US war on Iraq, a war that was described by the Pentagon in its first days as a “cake walk” and designed as a quick intervention modeled after the in-out combat of Operation Desert Storm ending Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait.

Not only didn’t it work out that way, but the news commitment faded and in the process, as one would expect, so did public attention. The networks went from ‘all the war all the time,’ to withdrawing its troops long before the military did.

As a result, the situation was uniformly described as “quiet” with no real assessment offered on the costs, casualties and consequences of what just about everyone considers a botched and failed mission-- one from which Washington still seems unable to end despite the campaign promises of its new President.'

Blair's Fight to Keep His Oil Cash Secret: Former PM's Deals Are Revealed as His Earnings Since 2007 Reach £20 Million

Tony Blair waged an extraordinary two-year battle to keep secret a lucrative deal with a multinational oil giant which has extensive interests in Iraq.
The former Prime Minister tried to keep the public in the dark over his dealings with South Korean oil firm UI Energy Corporation.
Mr Blair - who has made at least £20million since leaving Downing Street in June 2007 - also went to great efforts to keep hidden a £1million deal advising the ruling royal family in Iraq's neighbour Kuwait.
In an unprecedented move, he persuaded the committee which vets the jobs of former ministers to keep details of both deals from the public for 20 months, claiming it was commercially sensitive. The deals emerged yesterday when the Advisory Committee on Business Appointments finally lost patience with Mr Blair and decided to ignore his objections and publish the details.'

Anthony Lawson Demolishes Gordon Brown Iraq 'Evidence'

With Anthony Lawson around who needs the Chilcot Inquiry? The art of questioning performed here by Lawson is not presented at the Iraq Inquiry. In Britain 2010, war criminals are yet to be challenged.

Rothschild Zionist Miliband: Iraq War Won Britain Respect

British Foreign Secretary David Miliband has claimed that UK's involvement in the Iraq war has earned it respect in the Middle East.

Giving evidence to the public inquiry into Britain's role in the war on Monday, Miliband insisted that many Arab countries now respected Britain more for following through on threats of military force in Iraq.

Lord Of The Lies

Tony Blair has a memoir on the way, and you can smell the wretched stink of its bullshit even before the plastic wrap is peeled off the first copies.

Look at this what this enormous lying cock has to say about the book he was paid, incredibly, as much as £5 million to write:

"I have tried to write a book which describes the human as much as the political dimensions of life as prime minister.

"Though necessarily retrospective, it is an attempt to inform and shape current and future thinking as much as an historical account of the past. Most of all I want readers to have as much pleasure reading it as I had writing it."

Unlikely. He was paid to write it, while readers will pay to read it.

When you see it on your local bookshop shelf, don't forget to take out a fat black pen and write "Fucking Liar Scum!" and "Lord Of The Lies!" on as many pages as you can before you are ejected, or arrested.

Somebody has to do it.

Blair Warned in 2000 Iraq War Was Illegal

An invasion of Iraq was discussed within the Government more than two years before military action was taken – with Foreign Office mandarins warning that an invasion would be illegal, that it would claim "considerable casualties" and could lead to the breakdown of Iraq, The Independent can reveal.

The extent of Whitehall opposition to the policy eventually backed by Tony Blair emerges just three days before Gordon Brown will appear at the Iraq Inquiry, where he will be asked to explain his role in the Government's decision to invade.

Secret Foreign Office strategy papers drawn up by senior civil servants at the end of 2000 have been obtained by this newspaper and are published for the first time today. The Iraq: future strategy document considers options for dealing with the belligerent Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein. It is one of the key documents that Sir John Chilcot's Iraq Inquiry has declined to release.'

Brown to Give Evidence to the Iraq Inquiry

Next week brings Brown to the table to give his account of the circumstances leading to the war in Iraq..... but is there really any point in this sham of an inquiry?

So far we have seen everyone on stage pontificating into their own self esteem and clearly showing their allegiance to the prince of war crimes - Tony Blair.

Will Brown reveal something so spectacular that will have us all riveted to your seats? Will he turn on the guy that he never got along with or will it be a case of self preservation for the Labour Party? Either way one can be assured that the questions will be so carefully chosen and Brown just like his predecessor will have all the answers carefully laid out before him.'

Kidnapping & Trading in Iraqi Children...

While quite a bit of a fuss was raised regarding the kidnapping, smuggling and tafficking in Haitian children and rightly so, the same can't be said about the fate of Iraqi children.

I have already written several posts about this new lucrative business in Iraq, that of the kidnapping, trafficking and trading of children, and I am always aghast to see that no media or organization for the protection of children, like the famous UNICEF or Save the Child or OXFAM or anyone else, has given enough attention and dedicated effort to denounce and stop this tragedy...

Of course, before our "liberation" such criminality involving the selling, buying, trading, kidnapping, killing of children was unheard of...am I to deduce that Freedom and Democracy are baby killers ? Am afraid so.'
