Raw Milk Battle Reveals FDA Abandonment of Basic Human Right to Choose Your Food

The Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund (FTCLDF), an organization whose mission includes "defending the rights and broadening the freedoms of family farms and protecting consumer access to raw milk and nutrient dense foods", recently filed a lawsuit against the FDA for its ban on interstate sales of raw milk. The suit alleges that such a restriction is a direct violation of the United States Constitution. Nevertheless, the suit led to a surprisingly cold response from the FDA about its views on food freedom (and freedoms in general).

In a dismissal notice issued to the Iowa District Court where the suit was filed, the FDA officially made public its views on health and food freedom. These views will shock you, but they reveal the true evil intent of the FDA and why it is truly a rogue federal agency.

The FDA essentially believes that nobody has the right to choose what to eat or drink. You are only "allowed" to eat or drink what the FDA gives you permission to. There is no inherent right or God-given right to consume any foods from nature without the FDA's consent.

UK Shoppers Could Face VAT on Food

The feasibility of introducing the food tax is being raised informally between civil servants, industry bodies and retail insiders.

So politically-sensitive is the move that all the talks are occurring "under the radar", according to retail industry insiders.

Basic supermarket groceries are currently immune from VAT, along with books, newspapers and children's clothes.

However a VAT levy on food of between three and five per cent would raise billions of pounds in tax and help reduce Government borrowings, which are expected to hit £180 billion this year.'

Nuclear Powered Nanorobots To Replace Food?

In the future, we may see a type of pill for replacing food, but experts say it likely would not be a simple compound of chemicals. The shelves are full and business is brisk. Meat should be rationed to four portions a week to beat climate change, says Government-funded report

People will have to be rationed to a quarter of a pint of milk a day if the world is to avoid dangerous climate change, according to a new Government funded report.
A study by the Food Climate Network says the average Briton will also need to cut meat consumption to four small portions a week by 2050 - and dramatically reduce their alcohol, sweets and chocolate intake.
Although scientists and environmentalists have called for a cut in meat and dairy consumption before, the latest report - prepared by researchers at the University of Surrey - goes much further.
Cattle, sheep and pig farming produces around eight per cent of all Britain's greenhouse gas emissions. Most is in the form of methane - from belching livestock - or nitrous oxide from the soil used to grow feed.
The report says Britons will need to cut their meat and dairy consumption by a quarter if emissions are to remain stable.
"This is approximately the average level of consumption of people in the developing world today and amounts to half a kilo of meat and a litre of milk per person a week," the report says.

UN Says Eat Less Meat To Curb Global Warming

'People should have one meat-free day a week if they want to make a personal and effective sacrifice that would help tackle climate change, the world's leading authority on global warming has told The Observer
Dr Rajendra Pachauri, chair of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which last year earned a joint share of the Nobel Peace Prize, said that people should then go on to reduce their meat consumption even further.
His comments are the most controversial advice yet provided by the panel on how individuals can help tackle global warning.
Pachauri, who was re-elected the panel's chairman for a second six-year term last week, said diet change was important because of the huge greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental problems - including habitat destruction - associated with rearing cattle and other animals. It was relatively easy to change eating habits compared to changing means of transport, he said.
The UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation has estimated that meat production accounts for nearly a fifth of global greenhouse gas emissions. These are generated during the production of animal feeds, for example, while ruminants, particularly cows, emit methane, which is 23 times more effective as a global warming agent than carbon dioxide. The agency has also warned that meat consumption is set to double by the middle of the century.'
