Vatican to Claim Bishops are Not 'Employees'

The Vatican will today make its most detailed defence yet against claims that it is liable for US bishops who allowed priests to molest children, saying bishops are not its employees and that a document from 1962 did not require them to keep quiet.

The Vatican will make the arguments in a motion to dismiss a federal lawsuit on jurisdictional grounds filed in Louisville, Kentucky, but it could affect other efforts to sue the Holy See.

Jeffrey Lena, the Vatican's lawyer in the US, said the Vatican would assert that bishops are not its employees because they are not paid by Rome, don't act on Rome's behalf and are not controlled day-to-day by the pope — factors courts use to determine whether employers are liable for the actions of their employees.'

Japanese Government Blocks a Ban on Child Pornography

The ruling Democratic Party of Japan has refused to support legislation that would outlaw the possession of child pornography on the grounds that it would infringe individuals' freedom of expression – although there has been a stepped-up police campaign against people that sell sexual images of children.

Twenty people were arrested this week for posting child pornography on a mobile phone web site that was set up by a 17-year-old high school student, while Japan was shocked earlier this year at the arrest of a mother who took indecent images of her infant son and sold them via the internet.

National Police Agency said it received 4,486 complaints from the public of child pornography on the internet in 2009 and a record 650 people were charged with offences related to child pornography. Campaigners believe that represents the tip of the iceberg.

"We are urging all the political parties here to ban the possession of child pornography in the present session of parliament, but I am not at all optimistic that it will happen," said Keiji Goto, a lawyer and chairman of the Forum for Creating a Society That Does Not Tolerate Child Pornography.

In 2009 the government submitted a bill to revise the law on child pornography but lost the general election in August before it could be enacted.

The DPJ opposed the bill and instead called for the definition of child pornography to be narrowed down, while acquisition for money and multiple acquisitions would be made illegal.

"We consider child pornography to be the worst of all evils and we find it hard to understand how images of naked children tied up with ropes can be considered acceptable," Goto said.

"The only people who will be pleased at the failure to pass this legislation are paedophiles."

Did Boy Scouts Keep 'Perversion Files?'

But the former troop leader isn't on trial, reports CBS News correspondent John Blackstone. The case is against the Boy Scouts, who kept confidential files on Dykes and on thousands of molesters, intended to keep them out of scouting but keep the incidents quiet.

"They wanted to just get the guy to go away," said Patrick Boyle, an investigative journalist. "And let's hope he doesn’t show up again. So that means very frequently, nobody told the police."

How is Ratzinger Getting Away With It?

People are watching the unfolding Catholic abuse scandal with bewilderment – confused as to how priests who committed the most barbaric and depraved acts against children, often on a huge scale, were just permitted to walk away unpunished. In my last article we talked about the rejection by the legal system in Scotland of Hollie's initial story. However, as one would assume the determination of a mother never gives up on such matters so Hollie's mum Anne decided to pursue this case further owing to the involvement of many other peodophiles in the Aberdeen area.

She eventually managed to get Grampian Police to come down to Shropshire to carry out and interview with Hollie and Anne sat in another room close by and listening to the questions and answers etc. Anne was of the opinion that this interview did not go far enough and certainly did not involve Anne to any extent, despite the fact that she was also central to this story.'

Vatican Denies Pope was Involved in Sex Abuse Cover Up

A Vatican newspaper editorial said the claims were an "ignoble" attack on the Pope and that there was no "cover-up", the BBC reports.

Archbishops had complained about Fr Lawrence Murphy in the 1990s to a Vatican office led by the future pope, but apparently received no response.

But the Pope's spokesman defended him, saying the Vatican department which the future pontiff was in charge of had not been informed of these latest allegations until 1996 - 20 years after the priest's victims first informed the police.'

Scottish Government Cover up of Hollie Greig Part 4 – The Scottish Legal System rejects Hollie’s Case

If you can recall we covered the terrible cover up of Robert Greig's so called suicide which now appears to be a very convincing case of murder His extensive injuries would indicate that he was severely beaten/kicked, placed in his car and then set alight. We must remember that the car had not been involved in an accident and therefore such injuries could not have been as a result of a crash or be self inflicted.

In another article we revealed some letters that were sent advising those concerned of the terrible ordeal that Hollie had endured. It was as a result of Robert Green becoming involved in the Hollie case that things started to move along. Warrington Guardian: Appleton Man's Fight to Get Justice for Hollie

AN Appleton man is caught up in the centre of a storm concerning the alleged sexual abuse of a girl with Down’s Syndrome by a paedophile ring.

Robert Green, aged 63, is campaigning on behalf of Hollie Greig who claims to have been abused by paedophiles in Aberdeen for 14 years, since the age of six.

The case was taken to police when Hollie’s claims first came to light in 2000, but the investigation failed because it lacked ‘credible evidence’ even though, the family claims,Hollie pinpointed her attackers, which included people in positions of trust.

Grampian Police have been asked to re-start the investigation on various occasions by Anne Greig, Hollie’s mum.

Mr Green believes that key facts in the case are being covered up as senior figures are implicated in the case.'

Scottish Government Cover-up of Hollie Greig, Part 3 – The Death of Robert Greig

In my previous article I discussed the initial notification to the Grampian Police and their response in regard to Hollies allegations. Before moving on into the final part of this terrible story we must look at another family tragedy when Anne lost her Brother Robert under very suspicious circumstances.

Anne was preparing for Hollies 18th Birthday and Robert came around for a visit. Anne eventually had to nip out and told Robert. That was the last time that Anne saw her brother. On the 17th of November 1997 long before any of this had erupted Robert was found dead in his burnt out car on the outskirts of Aberdeen.'

The leader of the Roman Catholic Church in Ireland is facing huge pressure to resign amid allegations he witnessed teenage abuse victims take vows of silence over a paedophile.

Cardinal Sean Brady, the Primate of All Ireland, admitted that he attended meetings in 1975 when two teenage boys signed oaths of silence while testifying in a Church inquiry against Father Brendan Smyth.

The priest was later uncovered as the most notorious child abuser in the Irish Catholic Church, carrying out more than 90 sexual assaults against 40 youngsters in a 20-year period.
