Mass. Doctor Pleads Guilty to Research Fraud

A doctor accused of faking research for a dozen years in published studies that suggested after-surgery benefits from painkillers including Vioxx and Celebrex pleaded guilty Monday to one count of federal health care fraud.

An attorney for Dr. Scott Reuben said the anesthesiologist will have to repay $361,932 in research grants and forfeit assets worth at least $50,000 as penalty for his conduct following a plea hearing in U.S. District Court.

Prosecutors alleged the former chief of acute pain at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield sought and received research grants from pharmaceutical companies but never performed the studies. They said he fabricated patient data and submitted information to anesthesiology journals that unwittingly published it.'

More Evidence Revealing the Intentional Collusion to Create a Swine Flu Pandemic

The Vitalis News article offers more evidence that Novartis Pharmaceuticals of Basel, Switzerland conspired with corrupt ’scientists’ at the U.S. Army Institute of Pathology in Ft. Detrick, Maryland — the same place the deadly anthrax was obtained from right after the attacks of 9/11 — to create a weaponized strain of influenza by reverse engineering the deadly strain that was intentionally unleashed on unsuspecting populations in March and April to intentionally create demand for the deadly vaccine being produced by Novartis. Novartis applied for a patent on a ‘Split Influenza Vaccine with Adjuvants’ on November 4, 2005. The U.S. patent office granted the patent to Novartis on February 19, 2009. Think about it. Why would Novartis apply for a patent for a specialized vaccine for an outbreak that hasn’t happened yet? You wouldn’t, unless you were planning to release — or had previous knowledge of — a specially bioengineered variation of a viral strain to be released.

Roche Steps up Production of Tamiflu

Roche is increasing production of its Tamiflu antiviral medicine in response to fresh orders for the drug sparked by fears of a flu pandemic spreading from Mexico.

The Swiss pharmaceutical company said it would be able to produce 36m packs a month by the end of this year as governments add to stockpiles and begin using it for treatment, raising the prospect that it will again become a $1bn-a-year blockbuster drug after a recent drop in demand.

The question whether this was coincidence or a private pastime of Bill Gates has now been answered by Gates' decision to put all his money – and that of Warren Buffet, too – into allegedly fighting diseases.

Since it is public knowledge that the Gates Foundation has placed strategic investments into the pharmaceutical industry, it was only a question of time until the question would be answered whether Gates is serious about controlling diseases or whether he is just another spin doctor of the pharmaceutical "business with disease" who helps to expand and promote diseases under the deceptive veil of a "Mother Theresa".

Today we know the answer. With hundreds of millions of money already spent with hundreds of PR-stunts featuring Bill Gates as a modern Santa Clause he has not made a single effort promoting natural, non-patentable therapies.

Moreover, Gates and the other "stuntmen" were caught financing international conferences, like in Toronto, and abused it to attack South Africa and other governments who decided to cut themeselves loose from the genocidal business with antiretroviral (ARV) drugs promoted by big pharma.

It is now no longer a secret either where Gates got the masterplan for this scam from: a century ago, John D. Rockefeller - like Gates today - was under public scrutiny as a "robber baron" for his criminal activities in forging the Standard Oil cartel. His solution: change the clothes of a "robber baron" to a "Mother Theresa" by designing the pharmaceutical investment business and hiring PR agencies portraying him as a philantropist.

Gates' gimmick of becoming a philantropist repeats the Rockefeller scam almost one to one a century later.

But that is not enough. Gates serves as the financier for a whole shipload of ARV missionaries, including ex-U.S. President Clinton who promotes the deadly business with ARV drugs in Africa and other developing nations.

One may ask: don't they know the facts? Toxic ARVs damage the immune system and actually accelerate immune deficiencies! Of course they do! So what is the motive for their action? It is strikingly simple:

If the governments of the developing worlds realize that the ARV genocide is the dirtiest way yet to replace the old colonial dependencies between the rich and poor nations of this planet, they will terminate this business. They will, like South Africa, choose a health care system independent of the sickening and economically devestating dependency from the pharmaceutical colonialism.

Harvard Medical School Professors are Paid Big Bucks by Big Pharma to Push Meds

Pressure is building on Harvard Medical School to better regulate the massive gifts and consulting fees that faculty members regularly receive from drug companies, with increasing attention being drawn to the great potential for conflict of interest in such relationships.

"Before coming here, I had no idea how much influence companies had on medical education," said first-year medical student David Tian. "And it's something that's purposely meant to be under the table, providing information under the guise of education when that information is also presented for marketing purposes."

A student movement has recently taken form at Harvard Medical School, demanding widespread reform of the school's conflict-of-interest policies. The movement was sparked by a number of high-profile scandals in which Harvard medical faculty were revealed to have concealed hundreds of thousands of dollars in pharmaceutical company gifts, sparking a Senate investigation. This was followed by the American Medical Student Association giving the school an F grade for its conflict-of-interest disclosure policies.

FDA Floats Hydroxycut Scare to Discredit Yet Another Supplement Company

After tens of millions of doses of Hydroxycut were taken by consumers, one person died. This, along with reports of a few dozen liver-related side effects, caused the FDA to push for an industry-wide recall of virtually all Hydroxycut products. The thinking behind the warning? The risk of side effects is very low, but the FDA doesn't believe consumers should be exposed to such risks.

Not from a dietary supplement, anyway. When it's from a vaccine or a pharmaceutical, such risks are deemed "acceptable" by the FDA. Remember the outcry over the COX-2 inhibitor drug Vioxx and the testimony by Dr. David Graham of the FDA who calculated the drug killed over 60,000 Americans? That drug was voted "safe" by an FDA panel even after its own manufacturer voluntarily recalled it from the market!

When it comes to pharmaceuticals, you see, killing 60,000 Americans is no big deal. But when a dietary supplement is linked to a single death, that's more than enough for the FDA to spring into action with its spin machine to destroy the credibility of the dietary supplement in question.

The same thing happened with ephedra (ma huang), a perfectly safe Traditional Chinese Medicine that's been safely used for over 5,000 years in China. It's an important ingredient in all sorts of Chinese Medicine formulas, including anti-viral formulas that cave save lives during a pandemic. But thanks to the FDA, ephedra is now illegal to sell or prescribe in the United States, and anyone prescribing it to patients can be arrested and threatened with being shut down and put out of business.

Drug Company Money is Top Factor in Publication of Vaccine Studies

Flu vaccine studies that are funded by industry are significantly more likely to be published in prestigious journals and to later be cited in the scientific literature than studies without such funding, according to a survey of 274 studies conducted by researchers from the Cochrane Vaccine Field in Italy, and published in the British Medical Journal.

A good methodology, in contrast, had little impact on such factors. The study also found few studies providing good evidence that the flu vaccine is actually effective.

Merck Creates Fake Academic Medical Journal

There is very little about Big Pharma's manipulative, lies-as-marketing behavior that shocks me anymore, but this time out I am astounded: Merck has gone and created a fake academic journal, Australasian Journal of Bone and Joint Medicine, according to The Scientist. Merck products such as Fosamax were featured in "studies" in the journal, which is reportedly published by Elsevier, a well-known academic journal publishing house. Both it and Merck have got a lot of explaining to do.

Now They are Pushing Adding the Psychotropic Drug Lithium to Water Supplies

The study has prompted calls for further research into the possibility of adding lithium to drinking supplies – like water fluoridation to improve dental health.

Researchers at Oita University in Japan measured natural lithium levels in tap water in 18 communities in the surrounding region of southern Japan.

Writing in the British Journal of Psychiatry, the researchers said: "Our study suggests that very low levels of lithium in drinking water can lower the risk of suicide. Very low levels may possess an anti-suicidal effect."

Swine Flu Alert Clears Old Stock of Tamiflu

It is almost three years since we faced the hysteria of an avian flu epidemic, when governments bought billions of dollars of Tamiflu – the same anti-viral now being promoted to combat a supposed swine flu pandemic. The shelf life of Tamiflu also happens to be three years.

The World Health Organization has, at the time of writing, increased its threat level to five, which means governments can activate their pandemic plans – and start handing out Tamiflu drugs.

This is extremely convenient for governments that would have very soon have to dispose of billions of dollars of Tamiflu stock, which they bought to counter avian flu, or H5N1. The US government ordered 20 million doses, costing $2bn, in October, 2005, and around that time the UK government ordered 14.6 million doses. Tamiflu’s manufacturer, Roche, has confirmed that the shelf life of its anti-viral is three years.

England’s chief medical officer Sir Liam Donaldson has said that the UK is “well prepared” to counter swine flu – but only because it was well prepared to counter an avian flu pandemic that never happened.

The other worry is when, or if, medicine comes up with a specific anti-viral for swine flu. The last time they did – when we had the last swine flu scare in 1976 - health officials rushed through a vaccination programme that resulted in 1 out of 100,000 vaccinated Americans developing Guillain-Barre paralysis. The US government paid out $93 million in compensation.

Those of us who quaked in fear from the expected SARS epidemic and shook from the anticipated avian flu pandemic may feel they’ve been here before. Despite the dire warnings, at the time of writing just 2,600 cases of swine flu have been confirmed or suspected around the world , and there have been 160 deaths, and not all of these may turn out to be caused by swine flu. More people die on UK roads every month.

Meanwhile, while we’re blaming the Mexicans for starting the anticipated global pandemic of swine flu, who are the Mexicans blaming?

Several of their newspapers are pointing the finger at local plants of Smithfield Foods, the world’s largest pork packer and hog producer. Mexican journalists report on concerns from locals in Perote, Santa Cruz, Mexico – where the outbreak was believed to have started – that the pig breeding farm polluted the atmosphere and local water supplies.

A municipal health official seems to support the locals’ concerns, and says the outbreak may have been started by flies that reproduced in the pig waste.

Tamiflu Linked to Abnormal Behaviour

Influenza patients between 10 and 17 who took Tamiflu were 54 per cent more likely to exhibit serious abnormal behaviour than those who did not take the antiflu drug, a final report from a Japanese Health, Labour and Welfare Ministry research team, said.

The team, led by Yoshio Hirota, a professor at Osaka City University, studied the cases of about 10,000 children under 18 who had been diagnosed with influenza since 2006.

It will soon submit the report to a safety research committee of the ministry's Pharmaceutical Affairs and Food Sanitation Council.

"The link with Tamiflu can't be ruled out," the report said. "New research should be carried out, focusing on serious abnormal behaviour."

The ministry suspended the use, in principle, of the drug by 10- to 19-year-olds in 2007 after a number of children behaved abnormally after taking it. Examples of such behaviour include one child who started to hop after taking the drug and another who tried to jump from a balcony. The new findings make it unlikely the ministry will lift the ban.
