WHO Appoints H1N1 Cover-Up Committee

Reports that the WHO is appointing an 'independent' committee to investigate its own conduct in the H1N1 panic of 2009 has been tempered by the fact that one of the committee's members, John Mackenzie, was in fact one of the advisors who urged the WHO to declare a pandemic in the first place. He also has ties to vaccine manufacturers, making him part of the very charge being investigated: that the WHO relied on advisors with a financial interest in declaring a pandemic regardless of the facts on the ground.

Evidence continues to mount that the WHO declared a pandemic for the relatively mildH1N1 outbreak last year in order to trigger billions of dollars of automatic vaccine contracts for the benefit of WHO advisers with connections to Big Pharma. In the face of growing opposition and a loss of credibility due to the conflicts of interests among key WHO advisors, WHO Director Margaret Chan called Monday for a "frank, critical, transparent, credible and independent review of our performance" before entering a closed-door meeting with the "independent experts." No photographers were allowed inside and press was allowed only occasional access to the meeting.

Hopes for a genuinely independent investigation into the scandal were quickly dashed, however, when it was discovered that one of the group's members, Professor John Mackenzie of Curtin University in Australia, was a member of the very panel that advised the WHO to declare the H1N1 pandemic. In fact, Mackenzie is already on record with his assessment of his own actions: "I think we did everything right," he toldDer Spiegel earlier this year.'

Feds Found Pfizer Too Big to Nail, So They Looked the Other Way on Massive Fraud

Imagine being charged with a crime, but an imaginary friend takes the rap for you.

That is essentially what happened when Pfizer, the world's largest pharmaceutical company, was caught illegally marketing Bextra, a painkiller that was taken off the market in 2005 because of safety concerns.

When the criminal case was announced last fall, federal officials touted their prosecution as a model for tough, effective enforcement. "It sends a clear message" to the pharmaceutical industry, said Kevin Perkins, assistant director of the FBI's Criminal Investigative Division.

But beyond the fanfare, a CNN Special Investigation found another story, one that officials downplayed when they declared victory. It's a story about the power major pharmaceutical companies have even when they break the laws intended to protect patients.'

Mental illness is at an all-time high, with 40 million Americans affected, according to reports emanating from organized psychiatry . But just how accurate is this account? As you will see, people seeking help
from the mental health industry are often misdiagnosed, wrongfully treated, and abused. Others are deceptively lured to psychiatric facilities, or even kidnapped. No matter how they arrive, though, once they are there, inmates lose all freedoms and are forced to undergo dangerous but sanctioned procedures, such as electro convulsive therapy and treatment with powerful drugs, that can leave them emotionally, mentally, and physically marked for life. Some psychiatric patents are physically and sexually abused. Millions more are told that they need harmful medications, such as Prozac and Ritalin, but are not told of the seriously damaging side effects of these.

Add to all this a mammoth insurance fraud--which we all pay for--and what we have, in sum, is the dark side of psychiatry. Millions of individuals are being grievously harmed by the mental health profession, and it's time that we as a society faced this.'

Australian Fluoride Plant Construction Begins

Construction work on Mount Gambier’s fluoridation plant at the Blue Lake pumping station began on Monday.

The soil is currently being excavated in preparation for the construction of a 60 square metre stone building above the pumping station which will house the plant.
Major works are scheduled to start in late December, with completion to take about five months.

SA Water chief operating officer John Ringham said residents would start receiving fluoridated water by the middle of next year.'

GSK Refuses to Say What UK Pays for H1N1 Vaccine

GlaxoSmithKline again refused to disclose yesterday how much the UK Government is paying for as many as 132 million doses of the H1N1 swine flu vaccine it has ordered from the group.


Europe's biggest drugs company, which along with rival Baxter will supply the Government with the vaccine, said at the time of its second-quarter results in July that it was charging developed countries €7 a dose for the treatment. The British Government is getting a discount, but neither the company, nor the Department of Health is prepared to say how much GSK is earning from Britain.

Two Thousand Schoolgirls Suffer Suspected Ill-Effects From Cervical Cancer Vaccine

Doctors' reports show that girls of 12 and 13 have experienced convulsions, fever and paralysis after being given the vaccine, which is now administered in schools as part of efforts to prevent women developing cancer.

Others suffered nausea, muscle weakness, dizziness and blurred vision, according to a special report drawn up by drug safety watchdogs.
