Our Man in Copenhagen: Foreigners to Help Police UNFCCC Summit

Danish media are reporting that foreign police forces will help Denmark with security for the upcoming UN summit in Copenhagen. German police cars will be helping to patrol the streets, and Swedish and Dutch contingents will be coming too.

German police will be supporting their Danish colleagues by stepping up controls at the German-Danish border crossings to prevent “undesirables” from reaching Copenhagen and demonstrating their opinions on manmade climate change. “Copenhagen’s citizens are going to see personnel carriers with ‘Polizei’ in the streets” warns the leading newspaper, “Berlignske.” Front pages of newspapers are carrying pictures of German anti-riot police cars juxtaposed with smoking chimneys. Bookmakers are taking bets on whether the police will be using water canons.'
